These events that you are speaking of happened in Genesis 6:1-4 and there were Giants born to angels and earth women.Since that time God would never let that happen again.Incidentally I am not Pentecostal so I want to let you know that this belief is not something unique to the Pentecostal denomination.

i'm with you. i changed into Pentecostal, for a lengthy time period. Now i'm Non-denominational, yet nevertheless have alot of the Pentecostal beliefs (like non secular presents, and others). i'm commonly fairly sturdy about getting alongside with anybody and being waiting to love and worship God everywhere. I shop in ideas an impressive pal once informed me, "God would not care what faith you're or the position you went to church. He cares about your coronary heart, and contained in the top all that concerns is once you've given it to Him or no longer."

It's somewhere in Genesis, around the time of Noah, I think. The Nephalim (or however it's spelt) were fallen angels who lay with women and bore them babies. They formed a giant race. Real angels who follow God would never lie with the human race. They are above physical desires.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and those after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men and the bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

This was one of the reason cited for the Flood.

There is a lot of Folk Lore about this subject. It was supposed to have happened before the flood so that would exclude Goliath.

GENESIS 6:1-8

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants Num. 13.33 in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 ¶ And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD

This would be the Scripture that you are referring too.

Never heard that one before. I think that's the Biblical equivalent of an urban legend. Don't worry about stuff like that. It is not important to your salvation.

Why do I have to agree with Pentecostal Christians to believe this??? I am NO denomination, I am a Christian, I don't belong to any of these false organizations, they are not of GOD, they are of men.WHO DIED FOR YOU? CHRIST DIED FOR ME, no one else.. I proudly wear my masters name, not some earthly, or worldly man.. LOOK in Genesis, you will find this out there, I mean that there were giants in those days..DENOMINATION's ARE NOT OF GOD.
