My daughter started noticing around 10 months. She didn't interact with her shadow, but she enjoyed watching me move my hands to make shadows on the walls and ceiling.

we have a 6 month baby and he just found his shadow and was playing with it. having said that, I don't think that he understand that this is "his" Shadow" and that he can manipulate it and see the results. it looked like he was just fascinated by it and was trying to catch it on the carpet.
our older daughter was manipulating her shadow and playing with it at 18 month. which correlates better with what other users have answered

My daughter was 15 months when she first noticed her shadow. She was on the porch early one morning b4 daycare when she noticed it and started trying to step on it. I dont believe she was aware of the cause but entertained all the same.

I don't think there is a specific time a child discovers its shadow, it just occurs at some point in its development.

Probably about the same time a kitten discovers their shadow/reflection. Just record it and laugh. Kids are so dumb (I know why this is, so no one even bother to "educate" me, kids are just dumb -- I know because I was one once!)
