Spend time in Yahoo Answers asking questions about a God that they claim doesn't exist????
Seems a little foolish to me to attempt to debunk something that you say doesn't exist.

Interesteing how many of you linked to the same video that doesn't really answer the question.
I'm really not sure why Captain Atheism would view this question as insulting... how can something that you deny the existence of be a source of insult?

There are people who debate the greek myths, there are people who discuss the morality in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, etc.
My final paper in college English Composition II was a critical analysis of the myths of the Garou (werewolves) from White Wolf's "World of Darkness" setting -- from the point of view of one of the Garou (My paper actually had two cover pages and two bibliographies... the outer most cover & bibliography had my name and my real-life sources on them, the inner most cover & bibliography were cited as if it were a Werewolf writing the paper as an assignment from his mentor).
I don't have to believe in a thing to be interested in it. It's a scholarly field and debate and discussion is good.

Seems like there were quite a few Jews before World War II trying to debunk Hitler. Maybe if there were more people willing to take a stand against evil, then the holocaust might have been prevented. Standing up against fraud, hatred, and evil is never a foolish thing.

I don't know the questions are very much about 'God' as much as the religion(s) surrounding it. I've also seen questions about the Bible. I've also seen questions about Judaism and Islam and their holy books. Some people like to read and share info. Xianity is a widely known subject.
If you can't figure it out, maybe you should spend a little more time on the 'discover' section.

We are trying to convince all you religious people of how absurd your belief is. Letting you base your lives on myths without trying to persuade you away wouldn't be the right thing to do. The fewer Christians there are in the US, the better the country will be since our decisions won't be based on a 2000 year old fairytale. It seems foolish to me that you don't understand why we are here.

Because they also want to find out what you can say about your faith, at a same time will try to say something about what They beleive.
I am a firm beleiver in GOD, and no amount of discussion or debunking can make me falter from my faith, but I also respect other people's opinion of what they beleive since we are not being reared on the same manner.
I dont expect them to beleive what I beleive.
But regardless they are Human Being worthy of our respect.
Jesus is alive.

I think atheist think about God more than "God fearing folk". Probably because they are in the minority. Becoming an atheist is not easy, you are going against the majority. It is much easier to fall in line with society and accept what we are told.
Somebody buy a round for the atheist.

Regardless of whether or not God exists, the concept influences the attitudes, behaviors and votes of many many people in this country. That effects EVERYONE, not just those who buy into the concept.

Personally I'm trying to debunk the people who are spreading propaganda about evolution and science in general. Christian pseudo-science lies about the world we live in only harm our future, our children and our education system.
Believe what you will. I have no issue with that, just keep it in church and out of the classroom, government and public in general.
