bugaboo strollers or even a brand new SUV to tote the baby around in?
I cant buy any of those things, but want to.
I sometimes get jealous that they have those things.
Like this one lady in Winners, who was buying lots of clothes for her baby and she had an expensive *** stoller!
She was younger than me!
How do these ppl afford it?
When I saw her outside she was driving a newer SUV and I could never afford it!
How do these ppl afford things?

you do it right! as long as you do your best!
an expensive buggy or loads of clothes will not make your kid love you more! and it will not teach him/her better lesson! Do your best, and forget about the other moms!

It is easy to get jealous of these people. I hate when I go into the cutsie baby/kid boutiques and see people buing little dresses that cost $100. I just cant and wont do it. There is also the posibility that they actually cant afford what they are buying. My sister in law is the type that has to drive a BMW or other luxury car no matter if she is working, broke, up to the eyeballs in credit card debt.... She is once again unemployed and have no idea how she can afford to pay the bills. My husband and I really have no pitty for her since she did dig her own grave. Try not to worry about these people though. I have found so many cute outfits for my daughter at Target,Kmart sale racks that I dont think about what it did or did not cost me. The wear the clothes such a short amount of time when they are small it is just not worth it.

She probably just has more debt and isn't wise with her money. If not that, then she probably married someone with lots of money or her parents buy her stuff for her. Anyway I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sometimes I wish I would've had nicer things for all of my kids, instead of buying 2nd hand and hand-me-downs. But in the long run it won't make your kids turn out in better or be any happier. If that kind of stuff is what you want, maybe you could skimp on something else and save up to get some nicer baby stuff. I guess they afford things like that because they went to college and got good jobs. Now that my husband has a better paying job and I can afford those types of things, I still find myself just getting what's good enough and not necessarily the best and top of the line. I try not to use "things" to make me happy.

First of all, her situation could be any reason why she had all those nice stuff. She could have borrowed the stroller or car and maybe she was buying the things for someone else. We don't know but we shouldn't worry about things like that. If you want to have nice things too then you need to work hard, get a good education and good job. Or you can always marry a rich old man that will drop at any time!
Just don't let yourself be bothered by materialistic things and just focus on your good health, your family, and working hard to survive in this dog eat dog world. peace*

Don't worry about it. Your fine. I buy my daughter ( 3 years ) clothing and strollers from yard sales and Goodwill's. I do not feel like people who buy nothing but brand new clothing and things for their children are any better then I am . I do buy my daughters name brand shoes brand new. Just remember that those people that have the expensive cars and expensive things , most likely are in debt and owe tons on credit cards. I know how you feel. I get jealous a lot too. Lets both just try to be happy with what we can get our children. :)

I hear that! I figure they must either have wealthy husbands or they were born into it. I think on;y a small percentage actually earn it them selves. I've never even been able to shop at the mall for clothes for my two boys. We are WAL - MART all the way. More power to them I guess but now that I've learned how to budget better I probably still would spend that much money on stuff like that, I would make sure they had what they needed and every now and then splurge. This way they don't Expect things and they learn to work for them.

Everyone buys what their income can afford. When we first had our daughter, we wasn't able to shop at the mall or buy a brand new vehicle and what not. But after years of not spending a penny more than what was needed and saving every penny we could. We are now have a comfortable spending budget. We still have so much we can spend, but it's larger. It just takes a decent job, a good budget and patients!
Good luck!!!

People like that usually CAN'T afford it---they just look like they can. I guarantee pretty much anyone like that with a Bugaboo stroller and all that fancy crap is in debt up to their eyeballs. Don't be jealous of them---be happy you're not them. I'm sure they'd rather be buying kid's clothes from walmart like the rest of us then being in the hole they've dug for themselves.

You know the most precious thing you can give your child is your time, sure it's nice to have the money for the material things in this world, but if your child is secure with your love - they already are rich.

Just love them and look after them, don't worry about anyone else, because guess what - money doesn't buy happiness - just things!

good chance it's all on credit. You should have seen the kids lined up for the free school supplies for the poor school in our town. Some kids and moms were dressed in designer labels. Moms had their nails done and had hair extensions. The news crew interviewed some moms and the said they just couldn't afford the supplies. (cost around $10-$15 per kid). Apple Bottoms (FUBU, Tommy) or scissors (glue, tissues) . hmmm, I guess it really is just about your priorities. spend your time reading books to your child, and forget about those superficial parents.
