if you train a dog the dog will never forget, but no matter how much you teach a human being a lesson they keep going back doing it.. no matter how many times they go to jail, they come right back and started doing drugs again...

because animals thrive on instinctual urges and actions. When you train an animal to do something, it becomes another instinct. They hear a certain sound (like the word 'sit'), and then they sit, because someone has 'reprogrammed' their instincts to reflect that. It's all about behaviour modification via repetition. With people, we function on too many different levels (not even to mention that we have concious thought and free will) mentally to be trained in the same way.

Teach a dog how to balance your check book he'd probably forget how to rollover. Most humans are forever learning even if for some it's the wrong things.
