The only thing I can think of sounds kind of crude. Make whatever kind you want, decorate them with flesh colored icing, and put a bottle nipple in the middle. I guess that would be funny or appalling depending on the crowd. And if you have too many cupcakes, mommy would be inundated with nipples so only do a few.

Or you can decorate them with small items that will be used for the baby. Diaper pins, electric outlet covers, tiny spoons. When you are done, wash up the items and give to mom.

All these are added to decorated cupcakes, whatever way you like, I presume pink frosting and various kinds of sprinkles.

You could make a chain of cupcakes decorated all together to look like a caterpillar.

Make toothpick flags. Curling ribbon. Before curling it, write questions or topics with a very sharp permanent marker. Then curl the ribbon by zipping it against a scissor blade and tape it to the toothpick and insert into the cupcake. Variation is to do curling ribbon but also add the question to the flag on a piece of paper. Whatever cupcake the person takes, they talk about that topic while you are having refreshments. Sample questions:

Tell us your most interesting new baby story.
What are you willing to do for this family?
Name your fav bedtime story, why do you love it so much?
What do you love most about being a mom?
Tell us your fav new mom tip.
Best advice for this new mom?
Tell us your earliest memory of childhood.

You could also bake something into ONE cupcake. Whoever gets that cupcake gets a doorprize. Perhaps something edible like a chocolate chip or hershey's kiss.

Images that would be easy enough to create with icing: Rubber ducky, diaper, diaper pin, simple face with pink ribbon and a little hair curl on top.

Other refreshments that emphasize pastels: butter mints, M and M pearls (pirates of the caribbean thing, may be still available, these are pastel MMs with white chocolate). You could scatter these around your display of cupcakes.

Yellow and chocolate cupcakes with pink and white sprinkles and pink and white frosting. Try to find some cute mini ballet slippers, baby bottles, or bows to stick on the cupcakes.

Use the palest possible pink icing, you could either top them with tiny white roses, small white booties or even ice them with her name.

When I was looking for cupcake ideas for my best friends shower I ran across a bunch of cute ideas. I listed the recipes below and you can see the pictures at www.kraftkitchens.com Hope it helps hun!

Bunny Cupcakes

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
6 drops food coloring, any color
24 JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
2 Tbsp. colored sugar
Decorating gel

PREPARE and bake cake mix as directed on package for 24 cupcakes; cool completely.
TINT whipped topping with food coloring. Spread about 2 Tbsp. of the whipped topping onto each cupcake.
CUT each marshmallow crosswise in half with clean kitchen scissors. Press cut-sides of 24 of the marshmallow halves into colored sugar; flatten each slightly for the bunny's face. Cut through center of each of the remaining 24 marshmallow halves to within 1/4 inch of opposite side; separate pieces slightly to resemble the bunny's ears. Press cut-sides of each ear into colored sugar; flatten slightly. Arrange faces and ears on tops of cupcakes. Decorate faces with gel. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cover and store any leftover cupcakes in refrigerator.

Flower Power Cupcakes

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
Few drops food coloring, any color
24 JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
24 JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
1/4 cup colored sugar or colored sprinkles

PREPARE and bake cake mix as directed on package for 24 cupcakes; cool completely. Pierce cupcakes with wooden skewer or large fork at 1/4-inch intervals. Stir boiling water into dry gelatin mix at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Spoon 2 tsp. of the gelatin over each cupcake. Refrigerate 3 hours.
TINT whipped topping with food coloring; spread about 2 Tbsp. of the whipped topping onto each cupcake.
CUT each large marshmallow crosswise into five pieces with clean kitchen scissors to resemble flower petals. Arrange five of the petals in flower shape on top of each cupcake; place a miniature marshmallow in center of each group of petals. Sprinkle each with 1/2 tsp. colored sugar. Store in refrigerator.

Sweetcakes

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin, or any red flavor
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
1/4 cup seasonal colored sprinkles

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package. Stir in dry powered gelatin until well blended.
LINE 24 medium muffin cups with paper liners. Pour batter evenly into cups, filling each cup 1/2 full. Place a small marble or 1/2-inch ball of foil between each liner and one side of the cup, pushing the paper in to form a heart shape. Bake as directed on package for cupcakes. Cool completely; remove marble or foil.
SPREAD 2 Tbsp. whipped topping onto top of each cupcake. Decorate each with 1/4 tsp. sprinkles as desired. Store cupcakes in refrigerator.

Frosted Poke Cupcakes

1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix or yellow cake mix with pudding in the mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Brand Cherry Flavor Gelatin, divided
3/4 cup boiling water, divided
1/4 cup cold water
6 Tbsp. (3/4 stick) butter or margarine, softened
3 cups powdered sugar

PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 24 cupcakes; cool 10 minutes.
MEANWHILE, measure 1/4 cup of the dry gelatin into small bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup of the boiling water 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add cold water. Cut small "X" in center of each cupcake with sharp knife. Carefully pour gelatin evenly over cupcakes. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, stir remaining 1/4 cup boiling water into remaining dry gelatin in small bowl 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Cool.
BEAT butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugar alternately with the gelatin, beating until well blended after each addition. (Add a small amount of hot water if the frosting is too stiff.) Spread frosting onto cupcakes. Store in refrigerator.
