Is it not true that there is a difference between believing in God and knowing that God exists. I had always thought that the point at which one goes from belief the "knowing" is the point at which religion (any religion) becomes dangerous. God only asked us to believe in His son. Not to know anything.

Knowing that God or a God exist follows a belief in God or a God. Belief is based on faith while knowing is a by-product of such conviction. Therefore, it is not so much as a difference in meaning than an evolution of idea.

You are quite misguided, my friend. Why do you think he gave us the gift of intelligent thinking. It is what separates us from the animals. Now, before you blow your top, some animals can think up to a point, but they have no reasoning. The only thing they have is instict.

Not to offend you in any shape or form but if you were reading your word like you should God wanted us to go forth and make disciples. Which means once you are saved to get in your word and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also gave us the word (bible) to help us on earth with our everyday living situations.

I think its the same thing, but you have to believe that Jesus was God as well and that he died and was resurrected to have salvation, just simply believing in God is not sufficient according to the Bible.
