Your body wasn't meant to ingest smoke from a cigarette not to mention the many poisons in it.
The only one who benefits from smoking is the government when it takes all your money in taxes from tobacco.
"icddppl" I decided to not smoke about 4 months ago and I smoked for 35years. You CAN undo most of the damage you have done to your body if you do yourself a big favour and become a non smoker. You can free yourself from the very worst drug and begin to live a healthier, longer life.
That's up to you.
I don't need to tell you what terrible things can happen to you from smoking and if it hasn't happened to you yet, then you are playing Russian Roulette with your life.
"piggrumpy" Can't you understand that smoke that is inhaled second hand is dangerous too. You gave us bullets and smoke as examples these two things cause death so you have given us good examples to stay away from.
It is up to us to stay away from smokers if it annoys us, so long as the smokers are in areas where they can smoke. I have nothing against people who smoke, but I do feel sorry for them. Maybe one day you will be free too.

I smoke and hate it. But it is an addiction. I am 23 and have smoked since I was 15. I quit for a year last year and I felt great when I was off them. but then I had areal stressfull day and smoked one. Been smoking again ever since. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. I will quit again soon. Probably this month. I should of thought about something else do deal with that stress instead of a cigarette. But I don't drink or do any kind of stimulant. All of those I have stopped, but cigarettes are the hardest. I don't even drink soda anymore.

I think it is awful. If you do not smoke now do not start. I lost my dad to lung cancer and that was not enough to keep me from smoking I smoked for about 30 years when I could not climb the steps in my house without having to take a few breaks while climbing them because I could not breathe I decided to quit. It was not easy to quit but I did do it and have not smoked for about 5 1/2 years I still have some trouble breathing but not as much as a friend of mine who quit but her lungs are in such bad shape she is on oxygen and is on a waiting list for a lung transplant. The only thing smoking does is make you stink your clothes stink and makes you sick. costs a lot of money. Spend what you would on cigarettes on something fun like a great vacation or a better car live longer smelling fresher and felling much better without the smoking . good luck and please stay smoke free

If you are 18 or older than I think this is up to the person/people involved. I DO agree with smoking restrictions in a restaurant. BUT in a bar or private club I do not agree with the smoking restrictions. This is a form of DICTATORSHIP that our country (USA) is quickly falling to. And NO, I DON'T buy for one minute the argument that bartenders have to breath in 2nd hand smoke. Thats like a fire fighter saying he is bothered by smoke or a cop saying he is bothered by bullets. If any of the above bother you then WHY pray tell did he/she become what they became.?

I think that is a very bad idea. If you have kids what do you think you are showing them how to do. Do you want to see your kids giving them self's a slow death? When you are gone do you want your kids to remember the smell of there mom or dad as an ash tray? Not only your kids but all of the kid in the world. Do you think that people like selling a walking ash tray? Better yet do you think that your girlfriend or boyfriend like kissing an ash tray? I know for one that I don't like walking into a house that smells like ash trays are setting around. I would be more happy being in a land fill than be by a ash tray!

As a nurse, I think smoking cigarettes is a really bad idea. Sucking hot smoke into your lungs damages them. It puts you at risk for upper respiratory infections. It's addictive and is a BIG risk for lung cancer and COPD. It ages your skin and causes lines to develop. It smells awful and yellows your teeth and fingers. It's expensive. It's a fire hazard.

Don't smoke if you want to have good smelling breath, good teeth and normal colored fingers. Smoke if you want to look like an ugly hobo.
