That is why divorce is so common. People have this vision of finding someone better. It's very rare to find someone you will always agree with all the time. Marriage, like any relationship is work and if you love the person you will find ways to make it work. Divorce is a cop-out. Nobody should get married unless they are completely commited.

I believe that we all know what it is that we are looking for and that that is what we should get. When you "settle" you will never be happy. Most men who are good to their other half, that dont cheat, it is cause they did not settle, the ones who are messing around are still looking. The problem with women is that we settle cause we can change him, when in fact you should be with someone cause of how they are not what you can make them.

In another person's eyes it may look like i "settled" for my husband- he's overweight, 13 years older, not the greatest dresser, etc.
But I didn't. He is the love of my life and that is not settling.
Perhaps she felt locked in the relationship or "settled" for money or something instead of waiting for true love.

I disagree because even if it did get better how would u know they where a good person if you find someone that treats you right you should stick w/ 'em instead of saying there's always someone better.

I think you misread the womans statement. She meant she didnt want to settle with someone that was like the person from her previous relationship.

She may mean she will not lower her standards....example: she likes her man to be tall so she is not going to settle for a man that is 5 feet 5 inchs tall. This is my perception of settling.

I agree with you so excuse me for putting my two cents in. But some women dont have confidence in themselfs, so they end up marrying or hooking up with anyone. I have a freind that is sooo pretty and has a great a personality. But she wont show it to the right guy.... so she dates losers that wont expect much either.

when you fall in love, really really fall in love... NO one is better for you... and if the time comes where you are no longer good for each other then you move on, you're a different person at different phases of your life... AT THIS moment, that person could be the best! believe in true love!
