The right thing to do is be polite and have some class. Look the other person in the eye, and say "I'd really like to kiss you"

If the time is right, and they feel the same way, it'll happen. It's best to ask first...that way there's no miscommunication. It also shows you respect the other person's feelings, and you wouldn't want them to be uncomfortable if you just 'made the move' for a kiss.

If it's not the right time, they'll say so and they'll know you'd like to kiss. If it is the right time, be gentle, take your time, and let it happen slowly. A first real kiss is nothing to rush.

OK this a biggy
so dont wait for the door step scene that never works out and it usually back fires, instead kiss that person while you are dancing on the dance floor or go for a little walk and start dancing with her under the stars,
then start talking about how much fun you had and how great it was to spend the night with her.
then look her in the eyes and if she looks into your eyes then go in for the kiss but slowly.
go in half way and stop and look her in the eyes again if she doesn't back away kiss her.

when you kiss her do it softly and no tongue. a simple kiss would be great, but instead of pulling away really fast let the kiss linger a little bit, and then slowly pull back a little and then kiss her again but make it a Little longer this time.

and after your first date Than when you can start in with all the other ways of kissing but no tongue on the first kiss

oh and good luck

first off you have to do your lip streches, so you don't get a cramp, then you should practice on something (I used my hand when I was younger, but unfortunately, I fell in love with my hand, so I suggest your best friend) then after you get all practiced up, you should find some random boy to try it out on (don't ask his opinion because he will be too flabberghasted to give you an honest answer). Once you have finished these three steps, you should be ready for the real thing. Just go to the dance and show your date what you have been training for. He'll be amazed.

Are you asking for instructions on kissing someone? You'll know when and how when the time is right.

If you have to ask you are not ready for your first kiss. Wait till you grow up.

Lip to lip, if he/she is that type of person.
