You could only go to hell for that if there was a hell, which there isn't. By the way, the reason not to lie shouldn't be because you're afraid to go to hell. That means you would lie your d*ck of if you had the chance. Furthermore, there a lots of lies told because people are afraid they might not get accepted. A lot of people wouldn't get accepted by the average christian here on Yahoo if they told everything about themselves. Then there are always the lies you tell not to hurt someone's feelings. If your todler makes a drawing which consists of three black lines and a lot of wrinkeled paper, you don't tell him his drawing sucks if he asks you if you think it's pretty. You tell him how beautiful it is. Which is a lie. If you saw it in a shop somewhere you'd never ever buy it and you wouldn't want to have it for free. If you were to like the drawing because your todler made it, you would have to say: "listen honey, your drawing is ugly, but I like it because you're my kid". Same goes for people who ask you if they're ugly. If they are you're not going to say: "yes you are, but I like you so I'll live with it". Lying comes in all forms and shapes. By the way, when god told abraham he wanted him to offer his son, he was lying. He didn't want him to offer his son, he wanted to test Abrahams faith. Which is a completely different thing. Quite demented by the way, such a test. And a quite demented thing to be prepared to offer your son. All in all, I'm getting quite fed up with this "Do you lie" thing. Everbody lies. And noone is going to hell because of it.

I used to lie a lot before I got born again.
Now I sin also from time to time, but not as much because the Holy Spirit of God sustains me.

I don't lie so I have no clue, no worry to me.

I think I lie a lot.
But really I don't believe there is a life after this.Once we die we're just dead.
I know some people have different beliefs.

My big problem with lying is the white lies.

Someone asks me, "How are you" and I say, "Fine" ... but reality is that my car got a flat tire, my cat was diagnosed with "Saddle Thrombus" and will die soon, and I found out that my "Ex" dresses his mail order bride up to look like "Mogly" (The little boy from Disney's Jungle Book) ... and the IRS is questioning my taxes. Should I have told them all that instead of "Fine" ... Dunno.
