I was considering the national guard, I was interested if anyone had any experiences with the guard that they could share with me.

Oregon has one of the few National Guard Units in the nation that maintains a functional mechanized infantry force, as well as a non-fixed wing contingent (hueys, primarily for evac), thus the Oregon Guard is usually one of the first that's deployed, often stays in-theater longer, and suffers an inordinately high number of casualties compared to Guard units from other states.
Spag is right. They're well trained, good people who are very dedicated.

I worked closely with them and have a few friends serving. Very active units that are deploying often. Good people though. Anything specific you are looking for?
