Sounds like depression or the beginnings of bi-polar disorder. I would definately seek a therapist and get to the root of the problem and perhaps start meds now before it gets worse. Being bi-polar isn't something to play with, your mood swings can get down right violent to the point of suicidal and even homocidal tendencies and they would be completely out of your control. Don't wait until it gets worse.

Feeling fed up or unhappy from time to time is simply part of the human condition but there are ways to cope . You could see your GP first but frankly they'll either offer you antidepressants or send you to a counsellor - realistically they only have a few minutes to deal with each patient's problem. There's probably a reason why you're feeling like this; have a think about what it might be. Are you overworked? Have you lost someone dear? Is some relationship problem getting to you? Are you trapped in some difficult situation? Try to talk to someone you trust about what you are feeling. Take time out if necessary. Do things that relax and calm you. Mostly these feelings settle down after a few weeks anyway. If none of that helps and you're feeling worse then a short course of antidepressants might help you.

Stress, anxiety, over work and being generally run down, or depression are all possible causes.
Start looking at ways of cutting down stress in your life. Diet and moderate exercise (exercise mops up the stress chemicals in your body) are excellent ways of helping yourself. Make sure you are getting those 5 portions (tablespoons) of fruit and veg per day - this will not only make you feel better but will help to protect against illness, as you are probably more vulnerable to illness right now. You would be amazed how many people's health problems are down to diet.
Make sure you are getting a decent night's sleep (approx 8 hours) as your body repairs itself at night.
Get yourself to your doctor if you don't see an improvement after a few day's of doing the above.
Look after yourself!

Are you on your period or getting close to starting it? That can cause fatigue and irritibility. It could be alot of things, that was the 1st thing to pop in my head but I would really need alittle more info about you to tell.

Check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org and see if you have any other symptoms of low blood sugar in addition to these two. If you are beginning perimenopause, this may be why your hormones are changing to allow low blood sugar episodes to happen.

Could you be pregnant? If not, then maybe your period is coming. It's probably PMS. Take some Midol-you'll be ok.
