There are lots of great places to stay in the Caribbean. I suggest you decide what it is you want in a resort. Some of them cater to kids, others don't allow kids, others are like the Hedonism resorts. Some are set up for relaxation while others are party oriented. This is just a couple of differences in resorts. Think what it is you want and then go from there. Also, you might check out TripAdvisor.com for info on specific resorts or areas.

Belize is alot different than other places in the carribbean or on the yucatan. Belize is just now getting into the tourism industry. As of now, it is still defenetly a 3rd world country except for at the few resorts they have. The upside is that the country is unspoiled, meaning there is alot of jungle, mayan ruins etc that you cannot find anywhere else. The downside is that there is no real infrastructure. If you do go, stay away from Belize city, it is a crimeridden slum. The Cayes, like Caye Caulker and Abmergis Caye are supposed to be very nice. There are none of the large chain resorts in Belize. Jamaica has alot of nice scenery and some very nice areas, however it is also pretty much a crime infested slum outside of the tourist areas. If you do go to a resort such as sandels, beaches etc stay in the resort unless you are on a tour. Hurricaine season officially ends last day of november but peak season is sep and not many of them stay tha far south.

With Sandals, some of them are great and some so so. The thing with Sandals is they are not all rated the same.
I do a lot of traveling in Nov. because I am unable to go during preferred time because of my job. Technically it is hurricane season, but it doesn't tend to be a very active month. If you want to be more pre-cautious then the Southern Islands have a less chance of hurricanes due to the water temps usually hurricanes tend to dissipate down to a tropical storm when they reach these waters.
There are so many wonderful places you could go I would need more information in order to give you a good recommendation of a place that is right for you. How long you want to travel for, 1 - 5 hotel rating, approx. budget you would like to stay around, room category interest. Over all what is important for you to have on your trip will determine which place will make you most happy.

I would totally recommend Sandals Negril. I've been there twice as well as Sandals Dunn's River and Ohio Rios. I love visiting Jamaica and staying at Sandals Negril http://www.sandalspictures.com is in my opinion the best option. The resort is a true beach resort. Buildings are no taller than three stories and just 20 feet off the beach. Negril offers great shopping and places like Rick's Cafe where you can jump off cliff's or watch the Jamaican divers make it a blast.

Never been to Jamaica but I've cruised the carribean. We loved Belize. The locals are so friendly and the landscape is beautiful. Lots of wildlife also and the Mayan ruins are awesome. If you want a happenin night life and you love the beach and love to snorkel, Aruba is a great place to visit. They have an awesome night club right on the pier called Carlos and Charlies. The island isn't as beautiful because it is desert and completely flat. We also love St. Thomas which is a US territory. It's lush and green and has great beaches as well.

The hurricane season ends on the 30th of November but there isn't much to worry about travelling mid month. Someone earlier was hating on Barbados but they are clueless, I live on the island of Barbados(born and raised)and it is BEAUTIFUL and fun, although a little expensive. Try Antigua, no one can say anything bad about that island, I love it there, and there is a Sandals there as well.

Yes, it's still Hurricane Season in mid-November. It runs from June 'til end of Nov.. Sandals are nice. I would go to Barbados. If you want to make up your mind, you can feel free to send me a message for information on that country due to my personal experiences.

Belize. Check out this web site. I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF THIS PLACE. I was there this past March. LOVED IT. People are great. The street vendors take traveler's checks. The exchange rate is $1 American for $2 Belize. Everyone takes American.
