My ex-boyfriend and I still talk frequently. The other day when he called me he told me that sometimes he is ready for a serious relationship again, and the family and kids thing and then sometimes he just wants to have fun. Is it just something he randomly said or does it mean he's considering me when he thinks about the "serious relationship?"

He just says this to get what he wants from you. Wise up, tell him to get lost.

Wait for him to want the serious relationship/family all the time and then concider taking him back. Define "fun", what does he do for "fun". Does he mean hanging out with his friends or sleeping around? If it's hanging out with friends then that can be worked out in a relationship, you can't be around someone all the time. He's probably getting out of the "self" stage slowly and that is where the family idea comes in. Good luck, I know you're expecting to here "get over him and move on" but I know from experience that this is easier said than done for most.

Sounds like it's random. One thing you have to learn about men is they seldom have 'motive' behind what they say. Women are much more likely to say 'leading' things during a conversation just to get a reaction. I'm not saying men are simple, I'm just saying they are more up front with what they say. They speak more in a matter of fact, stream of conscious way. I wouldn't take what he said for anything more than what he said. If he was really interested in starting a family with you, he would say so. I don't mean to be hurtful, just factual.

I think that he is definately thinking of you when he thinks about a serious relationship...but I also think that if he doesn't think that you can be in a serious relationship and still have fun then he isn't ready for a serious relationship yet, but best of luck :)

OMG... do you realize that he is just keeping a string on you?

All he wants to do is keep you close enough that you don't move on and just far enough that you are always wondering "what if"!

If he wanted to be with you... he would not treat you like this! Quit talking to him... you are only hurting yourself by allowing him rule your life. (obviously you want more cause you're asking this question!)

Get your self confidence back and tell him to quit wasting your time. He's a dead end road... you have other fish to fry!

You'll feel a whole lot better about yourself if you do!

you know that all depends are you two like just freshly broken up or has it been awhile and you two are friends who talk bout anytyhing, if you guys have not been apart for that long then he is probably refering to you but if he is your "friend" then who knows but in most cases even then he was refering to you like i say 80 percent of the time when talkin to a ex does have the stuff come out our mouth is refering to them or is like a comparsoin to them you know well ya he most likely meant it but i'd watch too if he said he still wants to have fun that means he is not 100 percent ready for the kids ect...

Prob just a throw away comment, if its not then he is very manipulative knowing you would start thinking about him again in a relationship sense. I belive its called plan B, keeping you on the back burner incase!

dogs and cats CAN live together without killing eachother. I knew this dog, that actually saved a cat (its friend) from being eaten by a coyote. Think about it.

Sure!!!
It's coincidental!!!
What did you think?
Do you think he's coming out just to get married?
Think again...
Why should he do that?
He just make you happy to get what he wants!!!!
How old are you??
