Depending on the severity of the bruise, your platelet levels, and whether or not you treated the contusions with ice immediately after you were assaulted, you can expect up to a two week healing period. Typically they are initially red or purple, due to the rupture of blood vessels. Ice and elevation help stop the subcutaneous bleeding, which will decrease the severity of the bruise over time. Expect a couple more days of bluish discoloration, after which it may turn a yellowish or greenish color as the blood cells are broken down. This occurs at about 10-12 days. The coloration should be completely faded in rough 14-20 days. It's a long time, I know, but if it's a minor bruise, it will fade sooner. There is not much to do to speed up the process, other than make sure you are getting enough vitamin C. A deficiency of "C" increasing the healing time.

The best way to make bruises heal fast is to treat them immediately with rest, ice, compression and elevation. This decreases the amount of bleeding under the skin that causes the bruising in the first place.

put a curse on the puncher. buy a box of tarot cards or somethin.
Bruising from a punch can only go naturally though...try soaking face in warm water. Important as well to eat a proper balanced diet..it will go quick enough.

take a few days off work till it clears up, if possible.

You don't put arnica on it. You take it in tablet form. Also gentle heat will bring out the bruising faster, such as a warm flannel. Ice will reduce the swelling but will do nothing for the bruise, it just takes longer to goMake up covers bruising well. If it was a partner who caused it, get out

Did you ice it? Unfortunately, other than some good cover makeup, you are screwed I mean punched.

Try some of that 'mineral powder' makeup--just pretend its for your girlfriend for a present if you are embarrassed.
