Need ideas for something that can be done just one evening at a meeting. Only about 20 - 25 people in attendance. Not looking to raise large amount, just a little to keep our treasury healthy so we can donate to charity.

There are several things that can be done. One is to sell pop corn, ice cream, etc. Ask for donations instead of a set price, get everything donated and ask members to bring in friends and relatives for this one night event. Our group of 15 raised over $300.
We also decided to have a "snack bar" open for our meetings. With it we raise about $20 - $50 per month. Not much, but more than we were getting!
Lastly, our group started a Parent's night out. We would get together once a month with some movies, toys and our little brothers, sisters, and cousins, etc. We would get paid for baby sitting and in turn would pool our money for our treasury. We liked this because we were hanging out with our friends, our parents liked it because they had a time they could go out, and the kids liked it because they got to hang out with their bigger brothers and sisters and their friends!

Here is an idea that worked for our group and we raised more money than we thought we ever could.
Everyone in the group puts a container in their car. Then when ever they get any change like at a drive through or something, they put it in the container. Once the change goes in it can not come out until it is time to count it. My husband alone raised $42.95 in just a month. He travels a lot and hits drive through windows but he also emptied his pockets at the end of the day and put that change in too.
Try it and you will be very surprised by the amount you will gain.

depending on the age of your group there are alot of things you can do. you could have a small art sale or maybe have a cookie sale where everyone helps bake the cookies together or maybe you can have a walking contest where you have the people get other people to make a pledge to have the person walking go a certain distance to recieve the pledge. so many things can be done for charity if you put your mind to it. i think that you will find something because your heart seems to be in the right place.

Sell bake goods among lots of other reasonable stuff
Host Halloween party
Host auctions with donated goods or a date with a prominent bachelor
