Dyson is the best. They used to cost an arm and a leg. However, there is now an affordable one out; and it will last you YEARS!! Dyson is bagless and never seems to clog. I love mine!

Don't go with the bagless models. Every time you open it up, you are going to spread dirt around. My advice on how to save money is to look on Ebay for a used Electrolux. They are practically indestructible, are repairable if they break, and last a lifetime. I'm still using one from the 1960s that I bought 15 years ago.
Hope that helps.

The bagless are junk IMHO. The guy who started OREK is right. A bagless just causes dust and fumes when you empty the bagless container! It flies in your face. The OREK - XL is a great vacuum at a reasonable price.

While bagless vacuums are convenient for people who forget to empty the bag, for people with allergies, the sealable HEPA filter bags appear to be best. The bagless vacumns blow dust all over the place when you go to empty it. Check with the following website before you decide. I think Hoovers are the best selling vacumn cleaners.

I hear the Dyson's are good too, I have a Hoover Wind Tunnel 2 with the self propelling motor thing, I've been happy with that. I think the old saying " you get what you pay for" applies to vacuums, If you want something of good quality that'll last ur going to shell out at least 300 bucks.

I have just used a Dyson for picking up pet hair and it isnt all that great. It also left some stuff behind that i could have easilly just picked up myself, not like it was glued onto the carpet. Look at an Oreck or a Fantom. I have heard the Fantoms break very fast but my Fantom Thunder is 10 years old and still running strong.
