The geologist who spent his/her entire life studying geology, the age of the earth, and how to date it...OR the guy who heard in a church group that earth dating is impossible?
The biologist who's spent his/her entire life studying the mechanics of life, how species form-mutate-evolve, the similarities between species and what links one from the next...OR the creationist who can't tell one species from another?
The anthropologist who's spent his/her entire life studying ancient civilazations and cultures, seen fossils that range from ape to human, and seen mankind reach back FAR beyond Genesis...OR the creationist who thinks evolution is impossible, yet has never read a thing on the history of man?
The historian who knows of the bible's origins, culture surrounding, process in being assembled, etc...OR the Christian who thinks its perfect?
LESS THAN 1/10TH OF 1% OF SCIENTISTS IN THESE FIELDS THINK CREATION IS POSSIBLE. How can you say science proves creation?

Sunny - Thank you for proving my point...you're saying that science is wrong when you don't understand it!

What you are saying is that you had rather go off of mans intellect than God's promises. I won;t compare statistics with you, I care nothing for numbers. But I will compare the condition of my soul and the condition of yours. My God tells me not to judge. I don't know where you are going when you die, heaven or hell. But I do know that because of my simple minded ways of following Christ without questioning him I will one day meet my maker and see my Lord face to face. Then, any question that I have can be directed to the Creator, the One who made me and you. I know that if you do not know Him, then He will not know you. God gives us the ability to choose for ourselves, to think for ourselves, to decide for ourselves. Science doesn't let you choose. In science, you are just believing what someone else has already determined to be true or false. I feel sorrow for you. The decision our own, but as for me, I will follow my King.

I am very sure there is more than 1/10 of one percent there.
Looks like you are trying for a little pre-emptive sarcasm.
You can choose to believe what you want, however can you really truly understand what a biologist or anthropologist or historian really has transcript ed?
I verily highly doubt your capacity.
You choose to embrace your thinking not others, correct?
If you really do understand the evolution theology, then you can see the maybe, possibly and could have adverbs being used.
It is not the concrete evidence Atheists want from the Bible.
Besides, one human cannot possibly understand the whole picture and if you say you do, you can only be fooling yourself.

Do you know what you are talking about? Recheck your figures, did you just get them off the Internet.
What about the geologist who carbon dated the wood around Mount Saint Helen as being over a million years old, when they knew that it had been less than 50 years.
What about the scientist who keeps trying to use lightening to create life unsuccessfully. We know that lightening burns or melts everything it touches.
What about the scientist who keeps looking at aborted fetus's stem cells for cures to cancer, when all the work tells them that only adult stem cells have been known to bring about remission.
What about the historian who never believed in King Nebuchadnezzar's hanging gardens, until they found them.
What about the mathematician who works feverishly to prove evolution only to prove creation. Meaning he can't prove it.
Look at the bee hive. Study it! tell me what you find. I think you need to do a little more homework. Look at both sides, really study them. You'll see.

I'm not exactly a scientist, but my professional life uses science and my personal interests include the sciences. I also love God and my fellow creatures- human, animal and plant.
Even with my limited knowledge, I can see that the study of the real world explains a lot more than the ancient writings when the subject is the physical world. In the modern age, we are simply better equipped to make observations, to understand our observations and to compare our findings with the findings of other researchers.
The trouble starts when people insist upon mixing facts about the physical world with beliefs about the spiritual world. There are many spiritual lessons to learn from the Bible, but really not without applying those concepts to one's actual life. I truly believe that God wants me to learn from my life. That is the central issue of your question. It is a matter of whether we are to learn and improve our minds and our spiritual maturity or whether we are to keep ourselves frozen in time by adhering too closely to the wisdoms of thousands of years ago.
In short, it is a question of whether we will choose to let ourselves evolve or not. Don't be fooled. We do make that choice. On the physical and genetic level, we choose to evolve or not to evolve by who we mate with. When we choose not to believe that genes are real, we can breed with our close relatives and suffer all the consequenses of that choice. When we choose not to believe in mental evolution, we decide not to learn anything new. And when we choose not to evolve spiritually, we don't increase the amount of love that we bring to our lives and to the lives of others around us.
There are actually several things at stake in the debate of evolution versus creation. The most obvious is that if people must question whether the scriptures are 100% true and correct, they may damage their faith in God beyond repair. At that point, all the comfort that faith has given them is taken from them, including the ability to escape from the fear of death. And when we talk about the fear of death, we have to remember that it isn't just our own death that we fear, but also the deaths of our loved ones. That is a large burden for a person to bear. Religious people want to feel that what was good and true for, say, their departed grandparents is still good and true and will remain so forever.
Another challenge in the debate is that if religious people accept that science is right, they may have to take personal care and responsibility for what to believe when they read scripture. If we compromise one bit of scripture, then people would have to look much more closely and critically to find the remaining truth.
I am hoping to help you find some understanding and patience for people who don't believe what you clearly see as being the undeniable truth, because in a heated debate, neither side ever sees the other side's point. Only mutual respect and understanding can allow any of us to relax enough to respect and understand another person's point of view.
Logic and faith don't mix very well unless you shake them together very gently. Faith doesn't conform to the rules of logic and logic doesn't follow the rules of faith. That's been going on for hundreds of years now. If you want to give some real compelling proof that we are evolving, show people that you have evolved.

I'll stick by my Bible the word of God, who says that all your wisdom and knowledge and science into evolution, is foolishness with him, and I agree. Your minds are blinded by the god of this system of things, Satan. You believe what he wants you to believe, you see what he wants you to see, that is why you believe you are right and we are wrong, your blinded to the truth, and nothing you say can change my mind because I have God's Holy spirit, something you can't understand, and since you can't understand or explain it, it must not exist, but only to you and your kind. Seems kind of peculiar that so many who don't believe in God or creation would spend so much time in the religion and spirituality forum, don't you think. Think that maybe you can grab a ride on somebodies shirt tail so to speak when you find out your wrong.

I would rather listen to the geologists, biologist and paleontologist who look at the evidence honestly without an evolutionary presupposition and bias. I could list for you many scientists in these areas and others who accept the creation model. To assume a creationist is ignorant of the basics of these scientific disciplines is obtuse. We know more about these areas than you want to believe, and that scares the heck out of you.

Wow, a fellow evolutionist and secular humanist.
Great questions, but as we both know, religion has a wonderful way of, what I call, just "Goding the questions away."
There is no logic in religion. There is no reasonable thinking in religion. If the Pope said that God was purple and had six eyes, the followers would believe it.
And that's the problem isn't it? Followers are like sheep. They don't think, they don't question, they use no logic...they just follow along, letting their minds be guided and subverted without question.
That is scary man.

Guess even scientists can be wrong
I do not think its wise to make a you are or you are not statement many Christians are historians, scientists geologists etc.

Obviously it doesn't but you always get some American pseudo-scientist with letters after his name trying to argue otherwise. Creationists aren't in the business of providing scientific evidence they're in the business of lies, deceit and attacking genuine scientists who want to reveal what an amazing universe we live in. Creationists want to drag us back into the dark ages.
