It's a common arguement that illegals get welfare and drain our economy.Besides the fact that they cannot recieve any assistance unless they have social security numbers.I mean,they could recieve for their legal children,right?Anti illegals complain about this alot.But WHERE did the illegal immigrants get this idea for applying for welfare?I'm sure they didn't walk across the border with this knowledge,seeing as how Mexico doesn't offer full welfare benefits like we do.Is it possible(gasp)that they learned about it from us americans?Besides the fact that americans who work in the clinics and hospitals have practically shoved the information in their faces.If someone offers you something free,won't you apply for it?Most people would,if they thought they could get it.Anyway,for all the hooplah over illegals and welfare,aren't we the same ones who first introduced this to them?Why be mad at them?Why not be mad and blame the government for giving them this info.?

Illegals DO arrive here with a very detailed knowledge of our system that they get from friends and family that come before them. They do not need a Social Security number because they come here pregnant or become pregnant shortly after they get here, thus the children are citizens, so they get status through them. They automatically qualify for all kinds of benefits at that point. Not to mention the fact that the "husband" that they pretend not to have works off the grid and gets paid cash so they still qualify for welfare and food stamps and Medicaid and Section 8 housing and every other Government program there is. The husband working off the grid will do a job for $5.00 per hr that we want at least $10.00 an hour for. They are Catholics, so they don't use birth control. The schools are becoming overcrowded because of this. These are the basic reasons people are becoming pissed.

Illegals have to show proof of status before receiving any govt. benefits, and often time they are denied due to lack of proof of status. Even US citizens are subject to the same guidelines at least in my state, and some are even denied for not bringing their US birth certificates, so it is serious.
However dont' forget the children of illegal immigrants can get welfare because they are born here. But also dont forget the amount of moeny they get and the restricted time limits and vigorous reviews to update their case is not worth lining up for.
Its just like if you were unemployed, have you seen the unemployment check, you cant live on it or feed a family for that matter? and are in a hurry to look for work. Its the same thing.

you can't it assistance UNLESS you are here legally and even then with welfare reform legal citizens only can get it for 36 months their WHOLE LIVES!. There are time limits and work programs. If you don't follow a work program you get your benefits cuts then taken totally away YOU OR ANYONE else can not get government money long term nor can you get it and not be doing something like earning a G.E.D or getting work skills. The whole welfare argument in it's self is flawed the average person is uneducated about how it works now! 20 years ago it was ran diffrent even 15 years ago you did not have limits and required work it's now called JOBS and FAMILY services NOTE JOBS! you have a JOBS worker. No single person can get it without having a child there is no more GA general assistance a single man or women can never draw assistance even if they are legal unless they are disable and on S.S.I then they can draw about 80.00 in food stamps and will get a medical card. 1996 brought HUGE changes to the system.

Yes, it's the Americans who believe "Everyone should have a fair chance." They are naive and uneducated as to the results of illegal immigration. To me everyone who comes through the proper channels and pays taxes should be eligible, not just any Joe Shmo from any old country, come here and feel welcome to the benefits that our hard-working Am,ericans work hard to pay for. No way, we have enough people who need the benefits without the Mexicans coming here, and hiding out, while they enjoy all the free benefits we have offered.
It is possible, too, that they have heard from family members who have snuck over here. "Oh key Maria you and Edwardo HAVE to come here.....you get free medical, and you can have as many babies as you want! And you don't have to pay taxes, and you don't have to have a social security number (as most people believe) to get the benefits! Just come on down, sneak over the border, bring your aunts and cousins and second cousins, and make sure you apply for welfare and food stamps as soon as you get here. It's the same way they get some(a very few )of their jobs.They are sold a fake social security card.The problem is the card has a somebodies real # on it.Someday that person is going to try to get a loan or something and find out he's been on welfare.
As far as illegals paying into social security,most of them are paid under the table.Not near as many actually pay into social security as pro-immigrants would have you believe.

The goverment doesn't just give it to them. You aren't issued one unless you are a rightful immigrant. They steal numbers or they have children here who are lawful citizens then file. They are NOT denied it because they aren't citizens but are granted because their children are. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. Welfare is meant for US citizens. Yes, they may have gotten the idea from seeing Americans on welfare, but the point is that it is for Americans, not illegals. So yes, we can still be mad at them for taking something that doesn't belong to them.

You also have to remember that there are legal mexicans that work in the government offices and of course you know some of them will help their own people.

These ILLEGALS know our laws better than most of US do!!!! The mexican government makes SURE they know exactly what to do when they get here,how to make sure they are about to pop their kid before they come, and how to go about applying for welfare once they have the kid!!
