He was hanging by all four feet on the screen door and swinging his body from side to side. I chased him off and he jumped on the banister. This banister is really skinny, and he jumped up in the air and landed facing in the opposite direction on all four feet. Then he attacked a post and began biting it. He's been really irritable lately. What's wrong with him?

Could be a number of things, first he may have some kind of paid somewhere, they do act up when they have pain, did you call your vet? Be careful he may attack you, my cat did, a few times, they were vicious attacks, I had to have medical attention, eventually I HAD to put him down, it broke my heart, but the Vet said he would do it again, and it was not worth risking my health.
Good Luck!!!

that depends on if you have made him an inside cat now, if that the case try playing with him, you can take any of his toys and tie a string to it and run it through the house, he could also be trying to get you throw him out so he can play outside again.. if hes outside he might just be needing some more love than normal, either way its all perfectly normal for the cat to go crazy sometimes

It's bored, you need to buy it a kitty condo or some toys for it to play with. It sounds like he/she doesn't get to go outside. If this is the case you need to provide the cat with cardboard boxes or plastic bags for it to play with.

I have to agree with most people, it sounds like he is bored and is trying to find a way to entertain himself, some cats I've had have done similiar things, they get into "moods" just like we do. I suggest giving him a box or bags to play with they like the sound of the bag.

Sounds like any cat to me. What's wrong with letting him hang on the screen? My cat used to do that all the time.

This is a male? Could he be in heat?

Maybe bored, maybe wants attention? Sounds really playful. Is it an older cat, or a young one? Young ones have amazing energy and play insanely.

He sounds frustrated. Can you think of anything different that you are doing that might be causing this sort of anxious behavior?
