The ppl who lived before Jesus had the 'law' to cover them, plus the sacrifices done by their priests. If all was in order then they get to go to heaven
I don't recall ever reading that Jesus said that He is God. He did say (to the Romans who were questioning him with the phrase ' Are you the Son of God?', "You say that I am".
God (the Father) said that Jesus is His son by the voice at Jesus' baptism, "This is my son, in whom I am well pleased".
The Holy Bible was not 'sent down by God'..that is the way in which Mohammad received the Holy Quran. The Holy Bible is _inspired_ by God and transcribed by humans.
The Holy Quran claims to be the _unchanged_ word of God, not the Holy Bible. In fact, there are many Biblical books and writings that are not included in the current assembly of the Holy Bible.
Some church denominations use a few books that other do not. See the Roman Catholic Apochrypha. There also many others. Look up apochryphal books in Google. There are a bunch of them. Also look up Essene books.
There, an answer without spouting a bunch of chapters and verses at you.

Those who lived before Jesus. When they died, their souls went to Abraham's side, for those who sin went to hades. These two places were together, however separated by a chasm. Luke 16:19.
When Jesus died before resurrecting he went to Abraham's side to bring them into heaven.
Read John11-18 (the word refers to Jesus) "and the word was God". The Bible wasn't sent down from heaven. God anointed those who God had prepared to write. Men are not editing it. It has been translated and I am sooooo glad, because I don't know how to read, Aramic, Hebrew & Greek. Try seeking a home bible study, (Not Trying To Convert You), but you are able to ask questions that I'm sure most people who don't know want to know. In a service, the congreation is there to learn as well, however, it isn't the right time to ask questions. Or ask a pastor.

Wow! you ask great questions and i will try to answer them...but i would suggest that you talk to your pastor about these things.... First of all ONLY God knows a persons heart and it is God who will decide if you come to heaven! one theory i heard is that on the 3 days that Jesus was dead he went to hades and took the people out who followed and believed in God... That is one theory and since God gave us no total answer you will just have to leave that question to him..... Jesus came down as a man to take the sin out of the World because before they had to sacrifice a sheep or something to God but Jesus was our sacrifice...we now can talk to God through Jesus it is like a way through so that god can see us through the purity of Jesus otherwise he would only see the worthless sinners that we really are.....does this help you at all? i would encourage you to 1.) Pray 2.)read the Bible and 3.) talk to a pastor at a nearby Christian church.....i will pray for you!!
God bless you!

That become looooong. LOL i'm hoping you do no longer suggestions that I skimmed. The Bible makes it clean that as quickly as a individual is saved they are consistently saved. once you think, you're placed in God's hand and no one, no longer even your self, can pluck you from God's hand. once you're saved, God gives you the Holy Spirit, and He won't take Him remote from you! There are no verses that uphold the area of people who have faith you may lose your salvation. None. each and all of the verses help the undeniable fact that salvation is eternal. the element is that that is hard for us especially situations to be attentive to the variation. people who're somewhat saved can carry out a little notably stoopid issues. seem at King David. He become a guy after God's very own coronary heart, and yet he commited adultery and murdered a guy. seem on the letters Paul wrote to the churches - they are complete of rebuke for the fairly some poor issues the believers have been caught up in. those human beings seem saved, yet they have been in gross sin. So especially situations we gained't tell the variation - we gained't consistently tell if a individual become in no way saved at first, and that they have got wandered away with the aid of fact they weren't saved, or in the event that they are actual saved and that they are purely screwing up vast time. the main serious 2 issues to remember are this: a million) as quickly as saved, consistently saved, whether you sin; 2) we are actually not saved by ability of our works, yet by ability of religion.

You should change your name from "searching 4 the truth", to "I have already made up my mind." You are approaching these questions with a closed mind. Let's look with an open mind. Don't take my word om it, ask God yourself. The Bible says that you can have the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, live in you! But you have to come to God on His terms. These are His terms, accept His Son, Jesus, as your Lord and Savior, then God will prove Himself to you. If you don't, you will be left in the dark.
All the people who died before Jesus got the chance to receive eternal life. The Bible says that when Jesus died, He decended into hell and preached to the captives. Book of Peter.
Jesus is God because He is still alive! God is a Spirit and He dwells in the hearts of all who have received Him as their Lord and Savior.
When Thomas, said to Jesus, "You are my God", Jesus did correct him. Also Jesus said, "When you have seen me, you have seen the Father."

The people of the Old Testament had the Blood Sacrifices that was instituted by God prior to the coming of the Messiah. The Blood Sacrifices were a sign to come of the ultimate sacrifice that Christ would do for us on the Cross of Calvary. Those people will be in Heaven because the followed by faith looking to the future. Those of us today that put our faith in Christ now will be in Heaven because of the work that was done on the Cross.
There is no blood sacrifice needed any more because of this.

Well is that the only silly rule you can find that is stupid. Why not use just pure Logic.
I asked the same question of the sisters In the 40's, answer 'they go to purgatory' when I protested 'not fair' I got put in the cloakroom. Religion and the book thumpers are fools. Nothing mentioned in this medium is new just a bunch of people unaware of the world about them. Discover life for your self stop letting others lead you.

Heb 11:13 These all died by way of faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them from afar, and being persuaded, and having embraced and confessed that they are aliens and tenants on the earth.
They received eternal life through their faith in the coming messiah, Jesus. He was and is God, very God from the beginning.
One of many verses where Jesus calls Himself God
Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came to be, I AM!
Humans have not "edited" the Scriptures, they translated it from the original languages of Hebrew and Greek.

Before Jesus there were customs and practices for atoning for sin. The day of atonement. They would send a scapegoat into the desert, carrying the sins of the village on it. Making atonement for all their sin. They had to do this every year. When Jesus (who was a Jew) came he said, "I have come not to abolish the law, but to fulfill the law." His sacrifice was once for all. He was fully human and fully divine. Also, historical documents, not just the Bible, talk about Jesus' death and resurrection.
