My first choice would probably be Glorfindel, ever since I read the books when I was a kid his character always impressed me; when I was little and my friends and I went on 'adventures' I always pretended to be him. I'm not really sure why I'm so drawn to this character in particular, but he's always stuck out in my mind.

My second choice would be Galadriel, I strongly admire her and she has always been one of my favorite characters. Her character has a lot of depth in my opinion, she's not queen of a realm but she's also a ring-bearer which is a great task; I also really liked the chapter "The Mirror of Galadriel" because it shows so much about her character. Sorry, I'm rambling now :) All in all Glorfindel or Galadriel are whom I would choose to be if I could (that would be cool, though).

I would be Eowyn. I think she's highly underappreciated, and she's my favorite female character from LOTR. She's brave and strong and so innocent, even in her love for Aragorn. I think it is her crush on Aragorn that makes a lot of people not like her in favor of Arwen, but then how many girls watch Aragorn in LOTR and not fall in love with him? The only difference is she got to see him side by side every day. Plus, I think he led her on a bit. He definitely never told her that he was betrothed (at least not in the movie) and he drank that cup, which seemed to signify something to her and Theoden, at least.

Anyway, I love everything about Eowyn - her weaknesses and her strengths. Perhaps I can identify with her more than I realize. But that's definitely who I'd be.

Even thou I'm a woman, I would choose to be either Boromir (Sean Bean) or Faramir (David Wenham), from Gondor.
My choice is because they are the human characters for excellence: they made mistakes but they recognized their faults and the good in them arose to show the true value of men.
They fight for what they believe and for whom they love, defending their land no matter what.
Their values are good and I think they are very strong characters.
