This is a good question. Yes, it's easier on cyberspace to say what you really think, because nobody can slap you in the face for it. JK. Actually, though, I am just about as honest about things here as I am in real life. Everybody has their hangups, prejudices, etc, and some feel it necessary to let them manifest themselves here if they're not able to express their true feelings in real life. Other people sometimes know their beliefs about other people's religions are bigotted, and this is a safe place for them to express their bigotry, because they know it would never fly in real life. I have my own hangups based on real life experiences with people of other religions. I won't lie about that. Still, I try to include everybody, and listen to others opinions. Peace.

I think some people who are rude here would be rude in real life, no matter what.
I think a lot of people would be surprised when meeting others in real life. They would find that a lot of people here are decent people who lead good lives. The trouble with religious stereotypes (when automatically believed) is that you don't ever get to know the real people in those religions. To know someone, you must listen to them without making assumptions.

seems to me that the different religious faiths here are all at each others throats.
The atheist, however, are just sitting back and watching the fur fly.
Kinda tells you something about a religion that preaches love and peace eh?

No, but I have been attacked by evangelicals and fundies outside of the internet, just not as much.
If you want to turn a bunch of evangelicals and fundies and born agains into the Christian Taliban, just say the word "Catholic."
It works every time.

I do.
I confront my own faith like that. If you can't back what you say then it is nothing.
I don't bash FAITH. I bash what some claim to be facts. Like the rib discussion. You can have FAITH in the creation story. When you back it with LIES then...well...bash, bash, bash.

Yeah
Just don't invite Muslims or we'll actually have shoving and fist fights. I know I've talked with them before. No Israelies either, they can sometimes be just as bad. American Jews are cool, however.

most bashing seems to come from questions aimed at getting that type of response. My experience shows that serious questions generally get serious responses.

Us truckdrivers have the cb radio. It is much easer to talk than it is to type. There are those that say ugly things to other people over the radio that they wouldn't dare say to their face. We call them "cb rambos.
