It seems silly to be so vehemently sure of yourself on so many topics that your translated, edited, re-translated and often contradictory guide book has only a few scattered bits of flawed information about.

Sorry, Bad Cosmo, I didn't find it helpful to re-state in this question what many have said before. But, if you insist.......... the bible was translated from hebrew scrolls into latin and edited for the purposes of Constantine and his political agenda. Then, re-translated into english and several other languages at the advent of protestantism so that the masses could read it and not just priests. Contradictory......"There is no way to the father except through me" Jesus, " Faith without works is dead" .
Just because I didn't spell all of it out for you in the first part of my question, doesn't mean I can't.

Although I'm sure this won't mean anything to you.....

We read, study and trust God's word.

Ans as you state, there ARE false translations out there.
But there are some that are still true.

The contradictions that you speak of are generally thought so by people like yourself who don't study the word and know the true meanings. People like to take single passages and generalize them. This is not giving the true meaning in the context that it was intended. You have to read it all and understand what it says.

There are no contradictions

If you would like a true translation...The KJ and the NIV are about as close as anything we have. Those translation were done by MANY scholars who had to agree on the meaning before it was allow to be translated into what we have today. By using many people to do this, no one man's opinion was allowed to be inserted.

Try a little study and read before making those generalized posts. You aren't convincing any believers that what you say is correct. In fact, in our eyes you look like.......well........lets just say you look like you didn't do your homework

Have a goodun.......

Are you speaking of my Astronomy Text Book by Fred Hoyle, which says Pluto is the 9th planet!

Are you saying Don't Bear False Witness
Don't adulterate things or cheat on people
Don't be jeaulous or want what your neighbor has to the point of where you take it
Don't steal

Love your enemies
Love your neighbor
Don't be judgemental
When hit let them hit you again instead of starting a brawl or war

There's something flawed in all of this.

Hmmm.

Maybe we should just junk all the law books, I mean they're based on this flawed stuff (like in every 7th year forgive people of their debts -- that's in the flawed book you know), strap guns on and let everyone fend for themselves.

Even with the gun, Girl, I wouldn't walk down dark streets or alley, remember there are no law or moral codes or enforcers like God up above or the Police man or the Judge

You're on your own in Atheist Anarchy land!

The land made by people who believe in nothing.

I do mean this MORAL CODE of that flawed book, that you enforce when it's your 13 year old daughter who wants to get naked with a boy in bed, like the GOD you are, comes to us from 6,000 years ago.

What ATHEIST moral codes come from 7,000 years ago? Got one?

Or do Atheist get influced by that flawed book.

Now go Tell your 13 or 12 year old daughter that the great supreme Atheist leader, Howard Stern, says it's cool to be a 3 input person.

He is your greatest spokesman you know!

Ye of no flawed values.

to make a long story short: I think religious people "think or believe" they are right, because they cannot accept that there is "Evil" ruling the world (just look at all the wars the world has been thru throughout the millenia) - it seems to me that mankind is just hopping from one genocide to the next, and we´re on the verge of a next one! So people believe in the "Good" so they don´t get frustrated.

thankx for the answer on Vamps.....i´ll let U know.

It's called faith.

And those with good faith aren't concerned so much with being "right" as they are with doing good. Not everyone is cut out to be a biblical scholar and/or theologian, but there are many out there who dedicate time to study and reflection on their religion and its beliefs. At the end of the day, when something resonated deep down in one's soul and it is good, it is "right."

The problem with your question is that is in the fallacy of "begging the question." You’re using circular reasoning. This means that you’re assuming something that you have not yet proven and then making a point from that statement. You have shown NO proof to support your statement of "translated, edited, re-translated and often contradictory" Because of that, the second part isn't even valid. You have to prove the first part to even begin the second part. The first part is merely your opinion, which is not valid.

A study of the Scriptures reveals more than you know. By comparing what the Scriptures say to what is actually going on in the world and having lived long enough to actually see the changes happening along with what Jesus said about the fruitages produced by religions, I know I have the truth. Jehovah God also reveals truth to those who are earnestly seeking him by giving you Holy spirit, something you obviously have not experienced. God allows me understanding of his word as I endeavor to do his will to the best of my imperfect abilities. God, however, does not reveal his word to those who ridicule, or don't believe, or think themselves smarter than God. Neither does he reveal the truth of his word to those who belong to the world empire of false religion, Babylon the Great which includes false Christians.

First off feelings don't mean anything. Sorry!
Next the Bible is the only book with hundreds or thousands of fullfilled prophesy. Christianity is the only religion that states that slavation is a gift from God and can not be earned by works.
There are a lot of voices vying for our attention, so why should anyone consider Jesus above, say, Muhammad or Confucius, Buddha, or Charles Taze Russell, or Joseph Smith? After all, don't all roads lead to Heaven? Aren't all religions basically the same? The truth is all religions do not lead to Heaven just as all roads do not lead to Indiana.

Jesus alone speaks with the authority of God because Jesus alone conquered death. Muhammad, Confucius, and the others molder in their graves to this very day, but Jesus, by His own power, walked away from the tomb three days after dying on a cruel Roman cross. Anyone with power over death deserves our attention. Anyone with power over death deserves to be heard.

The evidence supporting the resurrection of Jesus is overwhelming. First, there were over five hundred eye-witnesses of the risen Christ! That is a lot of eye-witnesses. Five hundred voices cannot be ignored. There is also the matter of the empty tomb; the enemies of Jesus could have easily stopped all talk of the resurrection by producing His dead, decaying body, but there was no dead body for them to produce! The tomb was empty! Could the disciples have stolen His body? Hardly. To prevent such a contingency, the tomb of Jesus had been heavily guarded by armed soldiers. Considering His closest followers had fled in fear at His arrest and crucifixion, it is most unlikely this ragtag band of frightened fishermen would have gone head to head against trained, professional soldiers. The simple fact is that the resurrection of Jesus cannot be explained away!

Again, anyone who has power over death deserves to be heard. Jesus proved His power over death, therefore, we need to hear what He says. Jesus claims to be the only way to salvation (John 14:6). He is not a way; He is not one of many ways, but Jesus is the way.

And this same Jesus says, "Come to me all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). This is a tough world and life is difficult. Most of us are pretty well bloodied, bruised, and battle-scarred. Agree? So what do you want? Restoration or mere religion? A living Savior or one of many dead "prophets"? A meaningful relationship or empty rituals? Jesus is not a choice--He is the choice!

Jesus is the right "religion" if you are looking for forgiveness (Acts 10:43). Jesus is the right "religion" if you are looking for a meaningful relationship with God (John 10:10). Jesus is the right "religion" if you are looking for an eternal home in Heaven (John 3:16). Place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior - you will not regret it! Trust in Him for the forgiveness of your sins - you will not be disappointed.

If you want to have a "right relationship" with God, here is a sample prayer. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation. "God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I turn away from my sin and place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!"

Actually, I don't know about every Christian, but I question everything and God proves himself over and over. And, I look up the scripture before translation. There are more accuracies than contradictions. Read "The Case for Christ"

because if a christain is wrong he wont be able answer these questions
what is my purpose here in this world
and where will i go when i die
not being able to answer these to questions is why we have religion in the first place
