Because Windows Media Player does not recognize DVDs when it tries to burn. Mr Bill Gates did not add that ability into the Media Player program. You will need to use a program like Nero and Roxio to burn DVDs.

You'll have to go to MICROSOFT for a prog thatdoes, in the meantime go to www.zdnet.com for a solution :)
