Just politely tell him that you don't wish to discuss your personal life with him. Some people are just trying to be friendly and may not realize they are bothering you by asking or talking about your personal life. If the problem persists, then you may need to be more firm, but try to do it with tact, and with niceness...after all you DO have to live next to this person.

Just tell them the truth. Sometimes it's what people need. Your getting all worked up and his sleeping well because he has no idea your upset about him being in your business. Just go over and say hey neighbor I'm just gonna tell you ( from this point on mind your own business and well get along just fine) Or ( neighbor it's bothering me your involving yourself in my business and I'm asking you not to from this point on.) Sometimes honesty no matter how brutal it can be is the best policy. Why get your draws in a crunch before you speak your mind to your neighbor. You'll feel better when your do. Good luck.

People who poke their noses where they are not wanted usually have rather small lives and often have low self esteem. To difuse this problem, every time he speaks to you about your business, directly and with eye contact, change the subject to something about his home or yard. If he isn't too dense, he will get the hint shortly and you will have only worked at making him realize that you too are paying attention to what happens around the neighborhood.
This is a common tactic for the work place as well. Good luck and keep your feet on the ground~ LOL

I just told my neighbor that I would appreciate it if he would mind his own business from now on and don't worry about what I'm doing.
He felt insulted and he never bothers me anymore - it worked great.
Some people just need to dealt with bluntly and I have no problem with that. I like to kick in a few teeth every now and again but this wasn't the case.

Don't cause a fight. There are plenty of people who I would love to tell them just exactly how to shove it and where for stickin' their damn nose into my business. I hate busybodies. Don't those people having something do to other than havin' to know what people are doin' with their lives and every second of their day. Jeez. The best bet is to ignore 'em and not get 'em info worth spreadin'.

It all depends on the situation. If he's complaining about the noise coming from your house, you may be the problem. However, if he's snooping around your stuff, I'd leave him a note in the middle of the night. Write down that you've seen him and that you know he's watching you so knock it off. Don't put your name on it. It will drive him nuts not knowing who left it.

Just say "hey nosey! mind your biznazz!" Or send him a letter expressing your deepest feelings and then threaten to have the mob come over to his house if he keeps being nosey!
Worked for me!

well, i would go for my dad's approach, the extreme approach.
once, threre was this guy who always told my dad exactly where my mom was. Needless to say, my mom and dad got ticked off fairly quickly. One day the guy came up to my dad again and told him where my mom was and my dad told him "Did i ask you, i do not remember ever asking you to spy on my family you @$$%$!, i already made a police report about you, you stalker, next time you talk to me about my family i will beat the #@$@! out of you and believe me, the law will back me up!!!"
true story:)

Fire three blanks into your house from the porch, then yell into the house, "I told you to mind your own damm business! Then fire two more blanks, turn, look at him, and say "What do YOU want???" After the police have left, you shouldn't have any more problems.
