A few years ago there was a girl selling newspapers at a redlight close to where I worked.

I always thought she was to pretty to be doing that because she had long blonde hair down to her butt and physically fit.

But I would see her a few times a day for about a year and would say hi to her occasionally before I realized she was my first girlfriend from 25 years before.

But I saw her resting at a gas station one day and stopped to talk to her, we had a nice time talking about our past.

Within a week she was hit by a car and killed, do you think there is some purpose in this?

I'll always think about her, I always did anyway because she was my first girlfriend but more so now.

I just think it's wierd not to see someone for at least twenty years but always wonder what they're up to and then meet them just before they die.

It's like God allowed me to say bye.

It was chance. God does not have to allow last minute goodbyes, if everyone is being good, you will never have to say goodbye. You will all be in heaven someday. I like to say, "see you later" rather than "goodbye".

Everything happens for a reason, everyone has thier number. Possibly there was a purpose for the meeting. Maybe closure, maybe she taught you something, maybe you realized something that you didn't before talking to her. Maybe the realization that anything can happen at any given day was what the Lord wanted you to see. The only one that can find out what the purpose was is you. Talk to God, pray for Him to give you clearity, ask and you shall recieve.

It certainly is possible. It doesn't happen across the board, though. That is, God may have given you this gift. He may do it for others. But it is not something that happens for everyone, all the time.

You could thank God for the opportunity and see if he in some way says, "You're welcome." If you want to be sure.

Possibly... It may also be something from God telling you to make the most of the time that you have. Was she a spiritual person? If so... was she saved? Are you a christian? Did you witness to her before her death?

Lots of questions huh?

You can call it fate, or coincidence, or god, or whatever you like... I don't think that looking at life in those terms really does the fabric of reality any true justice.

It's funny how some things seem to work out.

Yeah, god took time out of watching millions of people die in wars, famine, crime, disease, etc.. to make sure you got to say bye to this one girl.
