I'm going up with some friends to Northern Michigan U to party, and one of my friends up there loves hard cider and wants some. I recently got a hankering for the stuff too...what are some good kinds? I've had Hornsby's before and it was okay.

I don't know where your coming from, but if Wisconsin is on the way, then you might get some of the best hard cider ever at AeppelTreow (pronounced "Apple True").

Sadly, great cider is hard to find. Some are made without any actual apple juice! Check the label.

I think AeppelTreow ships all across the midwest. Their website and number can be found here: http://www.aeppeltreow.com/

Good luck! Great Cider is a worthy obsession.

I love hard cider! It depends on what you're in the mood for. Woodchuck's ciders tend to be sweet, while Hornsby's and Longbow are pretty dry. If you're looking for something in between I suggest Hardcore (brewed in Boston) or Ace (brewed in Sonoma). Both are fairly sweet, but have a drier finish. All are fairly easy to find at a large liquor store. Just a note...in many countries outside of the US, cider is alcoholic...the "hard" part is redundant. Good luck!

I like Blackthorn Cider from England. It is crisp and clean tasting and pretty dry. To me it tastes better than Hornsby, and it is great on a hot day.

Mix Woodchuck Dark and Dry with Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, It makes a great apple cherry beer, or you can just try Woodchuck red label. I love it! Have fun Marquette!!!!

It is probably best to make your own. It is not that difficult to do.
