I had it when I was 21. It took about 6 weeks for it to completely go away. It was awful for me. I worked in customer service at the time and was on the phone a lot. As you know when one side of your face doesn't work, you don't talk very well. I had to wear an eye patch at night when I slept and couldn't wear my contacts because my eye wouldn't close. Fortunately, mine went completely away though. I get nervous everytime my eye twitches though. That's how it started for me. My left eye twitched and my left ear ached the day before my face went numb.

My father did. It lasted about three weeks total facial paralysis on the left side. But, after a couple days it was not severe and it only took 3 weeks for complete feeling to come back in his face.

I started noticing easing of symptoms about 2 weeks after onset and complete recovery about 2 weeks after that. I've not had a recurrence in 18 months.

My ex had it. He suffered with it for about a year and a bit. The doctor figured that it was due to a prolonged drug use problem ...the whole reason he is my ex!
I've since learned that accupressure seems to help many people with this condition. I "forgot" to mention that helpful tidbit to him... Good luck to you!

My mother had it about 17 years ago. She still has the look of paralysis on the side of her face when she smiles.
