Depends on your requirements. Ash 7 mentions www.asiarooms.com, there is Emerald Hotel for USD 43 per night a 4 star hotel. I stay there if I can. I would not stay at a hotel less than 3 stars, unless you want critters visiting you. Nana Hotel at Sukhumvit Soi 3 is supposed to be nice with prices starting at USD 28 per night. Flying from LAX, take China Airlines flight that departs in the afternoon and arrives around midnight. That is supposed to be the cheapest flight for around USD760 or so. I have yet to figure out Thai Airways lowest fare. I would think that any afternoon flight would be cheaper, less desirable. EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, Philippine Airlines, etc.

Best weather: November to March Dryest weather: November to March/April, Best hotel rates: May to October which is the rainy season or Monsoons. Does it dictate best rates for hotels, yes, goes up a little bit. Plus all the tourist from cold weather european countries visit during this time. This was why so many foreigners were caught in Phuket during the tsunami. I was there in July and it rained a couple hours during the day. Just once. It just depends. Best airfares times I really have not noticed any difference. Just make sure you book 3 or more months in advance with China Airlines. The further you book it ahead the better chance of getting the lower fares.
