What makes you think that ppl take responsibility for their offspring? I know very few who do, but I know lots of ppl who are very good at blaming anything and anyone other than themselves. Example, xtians problem with the public schools not teaching their religion. Why do they not take responsibility for teaching their own children their own mythology? Ignorance, arrogance and a lack of personal responsibility...that's why.

Parents pay very little attention to what their kids are doing. In big stores, they let them run wild. If a stranger reprimands them, the parent goes ballistic on the stranger. Then they take the kids home and force some ridlin down the cute widdle throats, so that mommie and daddie can drink beer and watch the telly without being bothered. Early on, they realize they are on their on. They come to believe that their opinions are just as mature and valid as any others. Eventually, they join some brand new church that just split off from mommie's church for emoto-political reasons. Then they find Y!A, and the rest is history..... ;-)

Society is the ppl who make up the society.
The pornography industry is multi - billion and influences every member of society (infants, children, teen-agers, adults, parents, the geriatric, even the dead).
Pornography is designed to reach large numbers of a population. It is public; although a whispered public thing. Parents are designed to protect and teach their individual kids. Society (politicians, media, religions, businesses, collective families) are designed to function together to work together within the society. Since pornography is reaching more than one family, it becomes a social issue that many need to address its functionality within the culture.
The historical abuse of women at the hands of men; the tragedy of rape and other heinous sex crimes, even against children; AIDS and a host of other sexually transmitted diseases; unwed mothers; "fatherless" children; abortion; adultery; skyrocketing divorse rates; prostituion; a multibillion-dollar pornography industry; the general cloud of shame and guilt that hangs over sexual matters - all this is fueled by the lust for the sin of lust.

No. It is a parents responsibility to guide your children in the right direction. Based on morals. Not based on what society says is okay. Pornography, has made children grow up way too quickly. What about the ones forced to be in porn? Molested because of porn? What is positive about porn? I do not want my children to get exposed to things that can confuse them and make their minds a mess. Do you want to explain to your five year old why, it is not okay to ...?

Why look at ourselves as a source of failure, when it is so easy to blame outside influences??
Lets face it, people are inherantly selfish and egotistical. No one is wrong in their beleifs. So blame others.
For the record, I agree with you.

It's easier to blame someone/something else than it is to actually take real responsibility for your kids.
