Since most of us are now equally capable of being able to spread our genes, natural selection isn't working very much on us anymore. Sexual selection is the biggest force behind the "advances" we will have.

Abortions have been happening all along. The amount of abortions that doctors are doing now pales in comparison to the amount that has always happened naturally.

It's certainly possible that a fetus that had a mutation that would be beneficial to human survival has been aborted, I'll give you that. But we humans, after evolving our big and useful brains, have messed with "natural selection" of our species in innumerable ways. Before modern medicine, lots of children died early in life from disease...which would tend to favor survival of those with natural immunities to those diseases. Once we could cure those diseases or vaccinate against them, there was no longer an evolutionary advantage to having immunity -- and so we've created our own evolutionary path where we're dependent on an external agent (medicine) to continue to survive as a species. Lots of other similar examples.
The number of abortions in the world is extremely small compared to the number of births (worldwide less than 0.01% of all pregnancies are aborted by medical means), so I doubt we're doing much to the evolution of our species in any meaningful way.

Obviously we are missing out on some contributions that some aborted fetuses would have made as adults. Some one may have already killed the next Einstein or Darwin or prevented a cure for aids or cancer from being discovered for many more years. Of course the next Hitler may have been killed as well. Depends on which way you want to take your chances and the odds.

No, ever heard of a bottle neck event? You can't slow down the process of evolution. Evolution works on what's there, that's all. It's not goal oriented

no i think its showing us even though weve supposedly evolved were still basically retarded.
i think it is slowing down on some children being forced into abusive homes, and being homeless. I also think its allowing some people on welfare to remain since theres no new kids for someone else to collect on.

sounds so hateful but its not intended that way, im agains abortion and anyone who has one should have their tubes tied. I wont get started cuz on this one i wont stop.

I think is is slowing down liberalism and the democratic party, they are killing off their future ranks and are to slow to see it.

I pray for a change in our nation and that people will seek out God and turn from these wicked ways.

I would have to say yes.
To those the are laughing at the notion. What do you think would have happened if when the first homo sapiens babies were being born to the missing link mothers, if the physical differences had disgusted the parents and they killed them. Would we all still be living in caves with big foreheads and eating raw meat?

No. I believe medicine, law enforcement, and wildlife control are slowing evolution.

No,,,but our education system is. "Since we can't get certain races to keep up with other races we will have to dummy down the better ones. That is the only way the Federal Gov. will give us money".
