If the Bible is the one true word of God, how come there are so many conflicts AMONG the Christians when it comes to discussing various things? Shouldn’t they all be saying the exact same thing because they follow the exact same God?

1Halloween is evil yet some Christian kids dress up and go trick or treating
2 Everyone is apparently a sinner yet Mary wasn’t because of the immaculate conception (Neetie answer) or God chose Mary & made her free from sin to be a worthy temple of God (CatholicMOM’s answer) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmrZXL.aqXdUiaxBvJywD6fsy6IX?qid=20060925071649AAiJHTi
3 God has been *ahem* coming for the last 2000 years. Shouldn’t they all agreed on when he was going to arrive
4 God created man in his image – but some say he allows man to evolve – which in contradictory to the 1st statement.
5 1 Earth day = 1000 God days. Shouldn’t they all agree on this at least
6 Satan is my Father but Jesus loves me anyway
7 God knows everything, why repent

And they wonder why it's so hard to convert people - they can't agree on how to explain things to us Atheists

Now if they all believed the same thing, that would be a real sign it's an inspired book, don't you agree?

Wow, really immature items ... are you a child? (asking this seriously)

1. Halloween is only evil if that is your intent. My kids just care about dressing up and scoring candy off the neighbors.
2. Mary was a sinner too ... immaculate conception means she was a virgin.
3. The Bible says no one knows the day or hour, not even Jesus.
4. God did create man in His image ... then he ate a bad apple and was changed.
5. 1 Earth day = 1 God day.
6. satan is who you choose to worship ... and yes, Jesus loves you anyway, just as all big brothers continue to love their rotten little brothers.
7. Repent means to turn in the other direction ... that's something you have to do, not God.

Honestly, if you are an adult, you really should know this stuff.

If you had answers to these questions, that made sense, were scriptural and shown to have some form of authority, would it matter to you?

If you sincerely want answers to these questions, this is not the venue. Why? There is not authority in the answers. Each answer is just as valid as another because we're all on equal footing here.

The Church is the pillar and bulwark of the Truth. See if you can prove their stance wrong first. Then, if you do, come here and announce it ... I'd be the first to join you in announcing that you have proven the guarantee of the Holy Spirit wrong!

If you want the Church's answers, I can help you find them (they do exist, but why post them here). I doubt you do though. However, my email box is always open.

PS. arewethereyet, you shouldn't post inaccurate answers unless malice is your intent.

You are asking for human answers to your question.

The best thing would be for you to get out the Word of God (Holy Bible) and read it for yourself. Get one that is easy to read and understand.

We (humans and Christians) are not perfect and we also make mistakes.

Question is...why are you "tracking" answers? Are you trying "trip" someone up? If so, what do you really get out of it?

1) Halloween started with the pagans. I don't know why Christians would want their children to participate. Take a poll this Halloween.

2) Yes, we all fall short of the glory of God...and we all sin. That is why we repent and walk away from it (sin). As for Mary the mother of Jesus...what-ever she did or didn't do (sin wise) is between her and God...not the rest of us.

3) No one knows when Jesus will return. If you are wondering WHY he hasn't returned? Well...He wants to save as many souls from Satan as possible. He's doing it for your sake, my sake...and everyone else, too.

4) God did create us in His image...that doesn't mean physical...otherwise wouldn't we all look alike? God created us in His image is also the Spirit that He is...as in...

When we were first created (Adam) both male and female traits were in Adam. That's why when God created Eve (Adams, help meet) God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. Taking a rib (Hebrew meaning the other side). God took the other side out of Adam and Eve was created.

Men embody the warrior, provider and protector side of God. While women embody beauty, grace...and the ability to carry babies...lol

5) where did you get 1 Earth day = 1000 God days? I've never heard this...and it's not spoken of in the Holy Bible... Please be specific were you got this...

6) Satan is NOT my father. Nor would I claim him if he were…God / Jesus does love me. I have sinned and I have repented.

7) Yes, God know everything. He knows your heart and if you are not sincere in your repenting...well, what do you think happens?

God doesn't force us to have a relationship w/ Him. He seeks us for relationship and loves us dearly. God loved us enough to send His only Son, Jesus. Jesus died for my sins, so that I might be saved.

I am so thankful. I know where I'm going when I die...

What about you?

Christians are all certain God has made himself perfectly clear to them and every one else is just confused, dyslexic or a heretic. All of which proves to me that an infallible God would never give dictation, or leave interpretation up to Rhema Institute or Oral Roberts grads.

I agree with you that for different people to have different interpretations makes the message hollow. Yet each different "Christian" denomination believes that their interpretation is the only correct one, even though it is a strictly human interpretaion. On the Judgment Day, God will remind them, just before He opens the trapdoor to Hell, "Pride goeth before a fall."

Because it is written on 3 levels, most only understand the 1st if that!
And there are now long standing beliefs, that are of the traditions of man!

There is only one truth, but many do not want to hear it!

The reason why Christians don't universally agree on all the same things, and for all the denominations, is because of ego friction among the followers.

Any person who uses that book, the bible, as a reference for anything, will show many signs of confusion. What confuses me, is why would anyone take it seriously in the first place?

2006-09-25 15:00:18 · answer #9 · answered by Gorgeoustxwoman2013 7 · 1 0

Cuz ppl have different interpretations of this complicated book
Halloween is just fun unless youre a witch
