I am fatigued all the time. I am an 18-year-old guy in practically perfect shape except I am tired all the time despite how much sleep I get. I got my blood checked an I am fine. I do have a lot of sugar and was wondering if that could cause me to be tired.

Nevermind sugar, you probably have much worse problems. They all start with what you put in your body. Consider adding nutrient and energy rich organic fruits and vegetables into your diet. The sugar is a problem because you're eating conventional sugar which is probably in the form of bleached processed white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose and ect. Natural sugars found in ORGANIC fruits are very good for you and boost your energy, not lower it. Consider getting a colon cleanse. I understand it's scary as no male wants a tube stuck on his *** and shot full of hot water, but you can lose 10 lbs after one and the coating of undigested, dead matter in your large intestine will be removed which will allow your body to draw more nutrients from your food, which should boost your energy more.

Sugar can have alot to do with it, cause it depletes your water and electrolytes...
If you are going to continue eating that much sugar i would try and add more water, gatorade, vitamins, to make up for what your body looses.
I used to be tired and have no energy and my blood was fine... although i did have a vitamin D deficiency which not alot of doctor checked for, that had alot to do with not having energy in addition to not eating healthy...
since i cut back the soda and snacks at work and started eating breakfast and drinking more water i feel alot better. but i also take extra vitamin D, but that is something to ask your doctor about.

If by a lot of sugar, you mean your blood sugar is high, that can be one explanation.

Check out www.hufa.org, the low blood sugar article. It will help you self-test for a blood sugar imbalance. It will also help explain why high sugar may make you feel tired.

Low sugar level makes your tired, as well as too high.

Have it checked for blood sugar level in a clinic, normal range is about 6-8. people can be as high as 30+ and as low as 1 or 2.

tiredness can be a sign of many other health problems. Do you have other symptoms? Are you under a lot of exam/work stress? Do you have a decent diet?

You could have chronic fatigue syndrome but all other possibilities must be ruled out by your doctor. If you get no satisfaction from your current gp see another one at your surgery.

Good luck

Get checked for hepatitis. Hep c's most common symptom is fatigue. You have to be checked specifically for it (antibodies test). If you've ever had any of the following risk factors, you may have the disease: tattoo's, piercings, blood transfusion before 1992, IV drug use (even only one time), blood exposure , etc.
Good luck.

I had the same problem. The doctors found I had a thyroid problem. It might be a good idea to question your doctor about the possability of a thyroid condition. Two possibilities are hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Both are treatable and are not too serious.

Definitley. Sugar can cause lots of problems that people never realize. Blurred vision to sleepyness can be caused by sugar. You need to get yourself checked soon, before it gets worse.

Yes that could cause a lack of energy. Try going to a homeopathic doctor and see it could be a vitamin deficiency.

it could but you should keep track of that.
If youve been under alot of stress that can cause fatigue too.
Talk to your doctor about it.
Are you sure you are no having interrupted sleep?
