I have this rash all over my stomach and especially on my belly button. It slightly itches, but on my belly button I could just itch it all day. I have read some things on the internet, about a disease or something that can cause my baby to not grow? Has anyone ever had to deal with something like this? I am 21 weeks pregnant, and am getting bigger in my tummy, but I use lotion, and it is just my belly button that itches soooo bad. I have had two kids before, so I think I know the average itching/ streaching theory. But if any of you have another theory, (other than a growing tummy) that might help me out thanks..... oh also, I cleaned all my bed sheets, and have used this laundary soap, and lotion for years, so no change there.

I broke out in terrible hives when I was about three months along with my daughter. They never could figure out what caused it since I hadn't come in contact with anything different, but they did say that sometimes pregnancy can cause you to be allergic to things you wouldn't normally be allergic to. Maybe you should try using hypoallergenic lotions and soaps and see if that helps.

sounds like it could be this. copied this off the internet:
PUPPP is thought to be related to stretching of the skin on the abdomen. Somehow the rash develops as a sort of "allergy" to the stretch marks and spreads elsewhere on the body. Supporting the stretch mark theory are the following observations:
Most cases begin in the last 3 months, especially the last 5 weeks, when the stretching is greatest. It is rare for PUPPP to begin after delivery.
PUPPP is most common in a first pregnancy, when the abdomen is tightest.
The rash usually starts around the umbilicus where stretching of the abdomen is greatest.
On average, patients with PUPPP have greater weight gain, babies that are heavier than normal and an increased chance of having twins.
Another theory considers low level traffic of fetal cells within the mother's circulation, which appears increased in women with PUPPP and may persist for some time after the baby has been born.

I got that, too, with my second pregnancy. It started on my tummy, then eventually spread all the way down to my crotch. Yuck! It really bothered me, not just because it was itchy, but also because it was unsightly (like I wasn't already unsightly enough!). Anyway, the ob/gyn didn't seem to think much of it. He prescribed a cream that did absolutely nothing to help the rash, but it did stop the itch. After I had the baby, I started using Lotrimim-the stuff guys use for jock itch! The rash cleared up within a month. How about that?
Anyway, check with your ob/gyn to make sure it's not anything too bizarre. Also, ask her if using the jock itch stuff would be okay.
Good luck and don't scratch too much!

look up PUPPP on the net.
I can't remember what it stands for, but it is a rash that starts at around 20 weeks.
I had it for a week, and started using a different moisturizer, and that got rid of it. I used Eucerin cream that comes in a tub with a screw on lid. It is terribly thick, but I used it every day after I showered, and used tons of it. It helps because it has NO PERFUME....and the PUPPP rash gets worse with chemicals and perfumes. It didn't prevent stretch marks, but it got rid of a really itchy uncomfortable problem.

There is a rash that is caused by pregnancy. I can't remember anything about it but you should go to the Dr. and make sure that it's nothing to worry about.

Have you been around anyone that has Rosella? I got it from a little 18 month old when i was pregnant with my second child. It didn't hurt the baby any, but scared me.

I would call your doctor, you might have picked up a fungus or something. Better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise it sounds like you are on the right track.
