My girlfriend wouldnt let me buy beer...is she crazy?

She tells me that we are supposed to be on a budget, and that I shouldnt spend our money on beer....then I see her come back from the mall and she had spent $65 on makeup!! Im like "what the heck, arent we on a budget??" and she says that she wants to look good for me. Then I told her thats what the beer is for!! Is she crazy or what?

she needs to look good cuz you will one day try and look at some other broad and say why cant you fix up. as far as the beer. just drink moderately and dont go buying cases of beer and being hung over. but she could have spent a little less on that makeup.

Trying to assume that this is a serious question... the main thing that occurs to me is that you said GIRLFRIEND, not wife. You both supposedly still have separate incomes? You DO have your own income, right? Assuming you both have your own incomes, then your budget is up to you and if she doesn't like it, she needs to get out. If, on the other hand, you are mooching off of her, she has ever right to determine how the money is budgeted. If you don't like it, you need to leave or get a job or at least shut up about it. If SHE is mooching off of you, you need to grow some cojones and stop letting her spend your money any way she pleases.

Bottom line -- you're not married.

First of all when you say, 'that is what the beer is for' I must admit that was very rude. Make up and beer and two different things. She probably don't want to spend money on the beer because it is not important, first of all, you are wasting your money on something that is not only expensive but terrible for you anyways (my uncle died from drinking too much beer.) Yeah maybe that wasn't the best idea for her to spend so much money on the make up, but out of the beer or make up, the make up does make more sence to spend money on. Just try to be understanding. I am not saying this to hurt you, I am saying it because it is true!

although I am a girl . i don't like her, or girls their type. I don't liek in general ppl that try to impose smtg to others. U should talk to her and resolve this. WHy shouldn't u buy beer??... u work for money too .. and if she can spend 65$ on amke up (a women gotta be beautiful :D), why can she bring beer to her guy too //. i can't understand her ..

Time to redefine the budget. Makes no sense at all. Evidently YOU should stick to the budget, but SHE can do whatever she feels like. Nope, that theory wouldn't fly with me either. Either it is a team effort or you bag it. Sorry. Best of luck!

Because she has a double standard. What goes for you and "we" doesn't apply to her. You have to stand your ground and not let her walk all over you. It runs the risk of causing lots of problems, but you shouldn't let her control everything and bend over backwards everytime she asks, but it's a fine line between standing your ground and demanding respect and being an asshole.
