I'm neither Wiccan nor Atheist, but I think that belief systems are very personal. We may adhere to a certain religion or belief, but ultimately our choice is based upon A) that which makes sense to us and B) that which we can rely on to make sense of everything.
When we struggle with our own beliefs, or when someone has a different belief system than ours, it is easy to be confused or become insecure. Through self-reflection and study of different belief systems, we can become reassured, or even discover more layers of our own beliefs.

My views are that so long as Wicca feels right to a Wiccan and Atheism feels right to an Atheist, that is all that matters. As Thomas Jefferson said, "The legitimate powers of government extend only to such acts as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are 20 gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." So long as their actions based on their beliefs do not negatively affect me, they can believe whatever they want.

Well, Atheists don't believe in humans having any sort of spirit or non-material essence to their being, right? While Wiccans strongly believe in the human spirit as well as non-material beings of many different kinds. I don't think there are many Wiccans who deny that humans have a spiritual side to their being and can learn how to access Inner Tools. I suppose someone with an atheistic bent could appreciate Wiccan beliefs in an archetypal kinda way. Balance of Masculine/Feminine, the atheist could view working with energy as a practice in abstract thinking.

I really don't know much about Wicca other than the Rede, to which I can find no objection.
As an atheist myself, I guess I view it as the most rational position given the knowledge I have.

I was a Wiccan; it became a pathway into learning older Pagan practices. I think it's a loving religion, though it doesn't account enough for the evil in this world for my needs.
I don't see how anyone could look at this world and not see that there's a Divine Intelligence of some sort up there, but I know some people do. I married one of them. And I think it's their right, as it is my right to draw another conclusion.

As a Christian, I'd tell you multitheistic/pagan faiths are bad for your immortal soul.
As a friend, I'd tell you to grow strong in your conviction. Don't let your cousin hurt you with hateful words.
Hate comes from fear. Your cousin probably fears death. For an Atheist, this is it. Our lives could be snuffed out at any moment. Not even a blip on the radar of history. We mean nothing. We are nothing.
For this we can only grieve for them. If you are a person of prayer, pray for them. For healing.
The Benedictines meditate on death every day. When you realize that not even the next hour is not promised to you - it gets really easy to have compassion and forgive. Any meeting could be the last you have with someone.

I'm an atheist who likes to dabble in Wicca from time to time. I don't pray to a "god or godess" but the spells are cool, and I love nature.

I have never heard of Wicca so I can not share an opinion, but I personally think Atheism is the only hope we have for world peace. All religions are so screwed up and bread hate no matter what crap they are trying to sell, at the end of the day they are selling HATE!

If he is an Atheist, why should he care? I could understand, to an extent, if he was Christian or such, but that shocks me a little because he's an Atheist. My partner is an Atheist, but just lets me get on with it. I don't involve him, because he doesn't want it, and he doesn't try to convince me I'm nuts!

Someone posted this offensive answer:
"wicca/evil, just pre-school for satanism. most involved with it do not know the deception they are involved with... run from it for you immortal souls sake..........Atheism/ignoranc... nothing more"
If I'm the ignorant one, why is it that I can spell ignorance? I've probably read more books than you own.
