The Quran was revealed to Muhammad, a man of 40 at that time that was known for his good character, he was also known as the 'Honest and trustworthy'. He was an orphan, and no one taught him to read or write. One day he returns from his meditiation shiverring, very scared, and telling his only wife about the angel that came to him and told him to 'Read, Read in the name of your lord that has created, Created man from a clot (of blood)...' As the time passes and more of the Quran is revealed, the arabs are fascinated with the Quran, which lead to many of them becoming Muslims. The style of the Quran is very unique and beautiful, it makes sense and rhymes too. The Quran has details about things that happened and things that are to happen. For example, the Quran narrates about Jesus and his mother Mary, peace be upon them. Many other Prophets are also narrated about in the Quran. In the Quran God tells us he sent the Book to Jesus and Moses, and those who believed in it are of the pious...

There are proofs, but those are just plain lies, conspiracies and based on whims. Rather, I'll give PROOF that Qur'an was not written by man.
First we take, Qur'an was written by man. Then, question arises, which man? Prophet Muhammad comes in the 1st place. Because he was the most influential. Enemies of Islam will try to prove that Qur'an was written by Muhammad. We will prove by a few proofs out of many, that IT WASN'T:
1. The Quran itself, at a number of places and in different ways, says it is from God. One of the claim runs thus: "This is indeed a Quran most honourable, a Book well-guarded...a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds." (56:77-80)
2. The Prophet did not claim credit for the Quran. Furthermore, the Quran claims: "This Quran is not such as can be produced by anyone other than God." (10:37)
3. The Prophet was illiterate. He was not a learned man or a philosopher.
4. The Quran took 23 years to complete. Had the verses of the Quran (6,666 altogether) been written by the Prophet, he would have needed editing, updating, etc. He did not have spell-check, thesaurus, etc. Yet all the information in the Quran is consistent and without discrepancies. The verses were taken down as dictate by the Prophet only once and no redrafting, editing or updating took place after that.
5. If the Prophet had written the Quran, he would not have made the challenges that are in the Quran, for fear that the learned Arabs and eminent poets of his time would have taken up his challenges and shamed him. "And if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed (from time to time) to Our servant (Muhammad), then produce a chapter like thereunto..." (2:23)
6. If the Prophet had written such an inimitable Book of Information and Wisdom without resorting to consultation with prominent scholars and the best books from the best libraries in the world?! If he did this, it would surely have been known, since every move he made was known to people. The Prophet was a historical figure, not a mythological figure.
7. The Prophet was the busiest most active person in history. So how could he have found the time to write (even if he were educated) such a comprehensive and extensive Book of Guidance which would have needed years of seclusion and concentration to complete?
8. In Chapter 111, it is mentioned that Abu Lahab, one of the Prophet's uncles who was always against Islam, would never accept Islam. This Revelation came some ten years before the death of Abu Lahab. How could the Prophet have dared to write this chapter because all he (Abu Lahab) needed to do to prove that Quran was not the words of God, was to accept Islam dishonestly?
9. The Prophet was mentioned by name in the Quran only 5 times whereas Jesus Christ's name was (honourably) mentioned 25 times. Could the Prophet go to such an extent of honouring someone more than himself if he had written the Quran?
10. There is a chapter in the Quran entitled and dedicated to "Mary", the mother of Jesus Christ, while there is no chapter called, or dedicated to, the prophet's own mother, "Amina", or daughter, "Fatima", nor were their names mentioned in the Quran. Could this have happened if the Prophet was the Author of the Quran?
11. Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, is glorified in the Quran as "the chosen lady above the women of all nations". Why would the Prophet glorify a woman he had never seen and one from another race, saying that she was chosen (by God) above all women, unless the formation of the verses had nothing to do with the Prophet's own authorship but that he only repeated what was inspired to him by God?
12. In the Quran, God is called "Allah" and (in arabic) he is also referred to by His attributes, like the Cherisher, the Merciful, the Almighty. There are 99 such attributes but none of these is "Abba" (father) by which the Arab Christians of the Prophet's time (and even today) refer to God. If the Prophet was the writer of the Quran, he would surely have used "Abba" as one of the names for God because of its familiarity and also because it was easier to say "Abba" than many of the attributes.

Muhammed, may have been illiterate, but he was a part of the rich oral tradition of the Arabs. Did he write the Quran himself? Why not? Can only God ryhme? Man isn't created from a clot of blood and the other miracles in the book just seem that way.
Bless you

You'll forgive me if I've not read it in the original arabic -- we all have priorities in that which we study, and arabic wasn't one of mine. However, I have read a concordance quran that had all thee of the generally accepted english interpretatons of it.
In reading it, I find no proof that Muhummad was a holy and righteous man. The Quran gives only three options to non-muslims:
1. Convert
2. Pay jizya and accept being second class citizens
3. Die
So if Muhummad was truly a man of peace, either he would not have written the quran nor would he have followed a god who told him to write such things. Therefore, muhummad was a violent man with power on his mind.
If Muhummad took action out of violence or power, then he was not holy. Since he can be demonstrated to have been violent or power-hungry, by the book he allegedly wrote, then he is not holy.
Muhummad, and by extension Islam, is a fraud, right down to its holy text.

It's simple, really: extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof. Where's the proof that it came from god?
There have been lots of poor people who taught themselves to read and write. There are lots of good writers and poets who have had very little education...so Muhammad could easily have been a good writer and poet, nothing to do with god. The book refers to and quotes jesus and other biblical prophets -- the bible (such as it was at the time) was readily available in the world at that time, and it doesn't require inspiration from god for him to have read it and liked parts of it, putting them in his own writings.
The bottom line here is: we know for a fact that most of the Quran was written by Muhammad. For the assertion that he was inspired by god/an angel to do so we have only his statements, no other proof of any kind. So, absent any proof of its divine source, the facts as we know them win -- it was written by a man.
In general, the quran is less self-contradictory than the bible is -- not surprising, really, given that Muhammad had lots of time after the bible was widely available to recognize its shortcomings and improve on them. That makes him a good writer and editor, it doesn't prove any divine inspiration. It still does, however, contain numerous errors and contradictions...which reinforce the claims of "man-made" instead of being divinely inspired.
Sorry, the burden of proof is not on anyone to prove it came from a man -- we know it did already. The burden of proof is to prove the extraordinary claim that it came from god -- and for that there is currently no proof at all (muhammad's word is not proof).

Whats your proof that it is not. What you said has no evidence of proof to it. It offers no sound proof at all. It is just an opinion or collection of words someone wrote down. It could simply be a legendary story made up. How do you know for sure?

It was written by a man, or did it mysteriously appear?
I don't care if the dude said god told him to write it, that don't mean squat. If I told you god told me to write a book would you believe it's from god?
