if it's not a huge scratch, the place you would take it to replace it, should have a polish that will get it out.

If it is small, there can be a sealer put over it to fix the crack. In this case, with many insurance companies they will not charge a deductable because it is keeping a problem from getting to the point of replacement. Check with a local glass place and your insurance company to get the details.

I agree with Sarah M. I had a scratch or a ding in my windshield, and I took it to a glass repair shop and they sealed it so it didn't spread like it always does in the winter. You can't even tell it was ever there. Saved me from getting a new windshield. Get it in asap.

Yes, if the scratch is not deep, it can be buffed out. If you want to, you can buy some jewellers rouge and try to rub it out with a cloth.
