A new law was passed in MO that states until they are 8 years old, weigh 80 lb. or 4'9" tall. The old law stated only until 4 years. What do you think about this new change?

I say safety first when it comes to our children, and I will not hesitate to use the booster seat; but this sounds like overkill to me.

In MO it's still okay for the kids to bounce around without a seatbelt as long as they're in a schoolbus. When mine were tots it was a challenge to get them to behave and I only have three and they DID wear their belts. Pity the school bus driver with 30+ and no belts or car seats.

I say maybe still keep them in the backseat. But not a booster seat. But how many people are going to follow that law, and the old law to. I say keeping in the back seat for safety still.

if its safer whats the problem

I think there should be laws against kids of any age riding in the front seat especially when there is nobody sitting in the back

I think it is a terrible way to destroy a childs new born self esteem. NY just passed the same law.

I think we do need some laws but that they are getting carried away with so many of them that are redundant or just not necessary.

i think it's rediculous.by the time the kids reach that age they should know how to sit in a car. if they don't then shame on the parents for not teaching them .

If they are going to be safer, go for it!! After all, it's your child's life that might be saved.
