There's really no difference in other information laden things you already possess.
Your SS card your drivers licenses,
your medical records
etc
its only frightening because it invasive under your skin.
Do I want it to become a law ? No,but I don't find it frightening only personally invasive.

I think it is to scary for people to really believe, that is why you will be called a nut, the thought of it is scary and they don't want to believe it will happen, but I think a few more generation have to go by before they can really get you, people are not desensitized enough yet.
