The newest version of CCleaner is listed as an adware but that is not accurate. When you install the program, it will ask you if you want to install the Yahoo! toolbar for Internet Explorer? By default, it will not install Yahoo! toolbar. However, if you don't feel comfortable with this then you can download the slim version which doesn't include the Yahoo! toolbar. You can download the slim version from MajorGeeks.com (http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_No_Yahoo_Toolbar_English_d4191.html)

I have been using CCleaner for a year now and it works great.

If you know what you are doing, and are aware, that CC cleaner WILL indeed clear out some Crap ( CC Stands for Crap Cleaner, lol ), it is a great tool. However, it will also delete some things you may not be prepared to change- for example, it clears my road runner page settings, which to me is no big deal.

Read the instructions, proceed with some caution, and yes, its a cool tool.

Yes, but choose carefully just what "trash" that you want to delete. And as the OP said, when using the registry cleaner (Issues) function, always do a backup first...just in case.

You may want to go with a scanner that is tried and true.
Like Adaware SE or Spybot Search and Destroy. Both can be Googled and are FREE.
