It worked on them, why shouldnt it work on you? Youre just as lame brained as they are, arent you?
Oh, my bad...you said youy were an atheist.... Which means youre educated. Which means they'll actually need incontrovertible proof. Which they dont have.
Back to the drawing board!

Written by modern Christians? Well the BIble was written roughly 200 years ago, compiled 1700 years ago, and translated continuously to keep up with the ever changing languages of the world.
There's plenty of proof outside the Bible, it simply all points to the BIble as truth. The Bible is the best kept historical record of that time period. The authors knew it needed to be as accurate as possible to convince doubters such as yourself.
Then I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "the source" saying that there's only one. Do you mean the Bible as a whole or the 66 books individually? Since many have different authors are each of these considered a seperate source? Now each of these authors compiled these historical text based on eye witness testimony. So now we have a multitude of authors writing for even more eye witnesses. So should we consider the Bible as a single source or a compilation of sources? And then if you're going to consider it as a single source. Which text is your source? There are a number of orginal copies of parts of the new testament dating back to within 20 years of Christ's ressurection. Do each one of these originals count as a single source or do we just ignore them? Please specify what you could possibly mean by the Bible being only one source and written by modern Christians.
If the Bible isn't a good enough source then try science. Advances in science in the last 20 years have pointed more and more to a creator than ever before. It's quite litterally written in the stars. As far as Christ being the son of God, the only real way to prove that is through historical documentation. Fortunantly we have a historical document that has stood the test of time. To suspect it to be false would mean about the same as suspecting Julius Caesar never lived. If you can't trust a historical document written within 100 years of the event, then what can you trust?
In conclusion
Bible = Truth

I do not believe you will be thoroughly convinced through anything I could quote to you from the Bible or read to you from a Christian author.
I believe people quoting from the Bible can sometimes be detrimental to people that are searching. I don't believe that anything is wrong with the Bible, but I do think people need to have some sort of reason to have faith through their own experience in life. It's not up to any Christian to convince someone who is not a believe to change their mind. All you can do is share your faith and tell people why believe. Lecturing is almost always the wrong way to go about it.
You need ot be able to relate to someone in a human way and not just spout of verses at them.

That is our primary point of reference. There are things about the book and what it says that have borne the book out as reliable or suprisingly true to form. We have found fault with it here and there when it is inconvenient, but we have more fault to find with almost every other ancient text. Egyptian writers were distinctly written to favor their sponsor, they knew what side of the bread theirs was buttered on. The Greek stuff is also surprisingly good in places, but abysmally wrong in others so that even the great Heroditus suffers. Romans certainly were no stranger to flattering texts. Yet in those we "know" when various emperors reigned and what they did or supposedly didn't do here there an other places. There are things we accept as fact, undeniably in places, but not in others--why? Did Julius Ceasar really do what his journals say he did? How do we know when his journals are the only records of many parts of what we "know" of that pivotal man? The list goes on.
Part of what we "know" about God is from those books that you don't want to accept--but what about today? We can't even get agreement on what the "historical record" from data of tree rings and frozen ice layers in the arctic and antarctic say in order to "prove" or "disprove" the supposed "global warming". How far is it to the andromeda galaxy? I watched a film when Edwin Hubbel said it was three-quarters of a million light years away. It was later assumed to be something closer to a million light years away. In the last couple of years there were some "corrections" that argued it was more like two million, now some two and a half million (link below on the latter). Don't be too smug in your natural sciences. Common notions are that over 90 percent of the mass of the universe is this commonly called "dark matter"--but we haven't but the vaguest clues as to what it might be. You are trusting in a science that is defining the world and all of existence on a little part of the universe--we haven't a clue, meanwhile, about what the stuff of the universe really is.
Now, if someone reads the Bible, prays, and finds the God of the Bible speaking to them, speaking words of personal assurance, words that they ought to be honest, to live peaceably when the urge is to fight--this stuff doesn't count. But with all your study and research this world keeps getting redefined. It is you that do not convince me. Sorry.

Eventually your belief will be based on faith--as this is required of all who follow Jesus. But, that does not mean that we have to have 'blind faith.' There is a tremendous amount of evidence that supports Christianity, from the manuscripts to archaeological finds. In the end, just as in everything else, you alone make up your mind what you want to believe..and that is one of the great blessings that God allows us--that we aren't his robots down here on Earth, but rational intelligent people capable of making wise decisions..Hope this helps .God Bless..

Pssst..Don't tell anyone but I think that the Bible is fiction and most religious "stories" are fairy tales. Know anyone personally who was there that can back it up? I believe in a supreme being that is probably God but like Janet Jackson sang back in the nineties..."what have you done for me lately?"

No I don't think that alone would convince you. As a matter of fact there is nothing I personally can do to convince you.
My personal life would be more of a testimony to you.... and of course I would pray that the Holy Spirit convict you..... That is HIs job, not mine.

I'm an atheist and would need to see concrete evidence, which of course could never be produced. Some people are so gullible and will believe anything they read which i find sad.
