If it's that severe you need to go to the doctor and get some prescription sleep-aids. That is if the reason you don't sleep is because you can't. If you're not even going to bed (maybe because you're too busy) you need to bump sleep a little higher on your priority list and actually be in bed for a few more hours.

Well it depends on your lifestyle. Do you have major responsibilities such as children, hectic job, husband, school etc. Also, are going through any stress or depression? If the answer is yes, you will need a certain amount of medical help. If it is no, then you need to wake up as early as possible each morning, exercise, stay active each day so that by night time, you would be tired. If you are suffering from insominia, you might need temporary meds. I can't answer your question 100% because I do not know all the facts but you should understand that sleep is very important because it revitalises your mind and body. Lack of sleep might mean you are not as productive as you want to be or it might cause illnesses. Make sure your bedroom does not have major distractions such as TV on after midnight, loud music, etc. Good Luck.

well go to sleep earlier and see if you sleep any longer? if not then there are sleep aids, but some medical sleep aids might be addicting.. ask pharmasist which is safer, or if your old enough.. go have a drink or 2 maybe a shot of tequila and go straight to bed... that might help... just dont go to a buisy bar where some weirdo might have a chance to tke you home!!! leaving the tv on and watchin something boring works for me everynight... try that, crazy enough you might need a night light!!!

Why dont you try doing something you dread before going to bed. It might help you get tired and bored fast and put you to sleep.

30 minutes! You should see a doctor. You must be so exhausted.
What is the reason, depression, anxiety, are you taking medications? Thats sounds pretty serious.
