My 9 year old has to have monkeys on everything. Her backpack, keychains, posters etc.

It's a fad right now. A lot of girls are going through that phase and marketers are well aware of this and supplying them quite well.

All? No. My first went through a major Dinosaur phase; my youngest is going through a Neopets phase. In a few years my eldest will be going the 'Boy' phase and I guarantee you that when that happens to your daughter you will recall this day and wish, from the bottom of your heart, that the simple Monkey phase would have continued up to her 21st birthday.

Probably just a phase. Different kids, different phases. Currently, my 4 year old likes to pretend that she is a dog. She wants everything with a dog on it! She just likes monkies! Just be glad it's not grunge bands or death stuff!

Well it`s pretty normal, so don`t get to concerned. Most people go thorugh a phase like that. My sister loves Dora the Explorer but eventually she`ll move on to something else just like your daughter. Hey I`am 15 and I LOVE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!!

Phases are common with kids, it doesn't necessarily have to be monkeys (my neice is into Betty Boop), eventually she'll find something else to catch her attention and she'll forget all about monkeys.

It's the COOL thing right now for young girls. Just let it go and it will eventually pass. Look at it this way....at least it's not a specific boy she's wanting posted all over.

I don't see what the problem is. Right now she likes monkey motifs. Too soon it will be some trashy looking drum-thumping guy and then you may have a problem.

Just be glad it is Monkeys before you know it her interest will shift and it will be boys and dating and all that fun stuff.

hearts, froggies, makeup, shoes, Boys! Etc.
