I haven't read the book and I never will. Ms. Sheehan has prove herself unstable, and there is no book out there that could convince me otherwise.
Frankly, I think reading her book or giving her any encouragement to continue this outrageous behavior is a slap in the face to our Military, and more importantly, her own deceased son.
I'm sure she is grieving for her son, but enough is enough with this protesting and trying to get to the President. This has consumed her life, and it's cost her a marriage and her other children.
Ms. Sheehan was a proud Military mom until her son was killed. I'm willing to bet that had he not died in Iraq, or came home from the war as a hero, she wouldn't be out there protesting. She would have continued to be the proud Military mom of an outstanding young man.
This women is hurt and angry over the death of her child, which she has every right to be, but she needs to get professional help with these feelings and stop trying to blame and harass the President.

I watched it....still feel the same way. I'm very much opposed to her. First of all, she didn't raise her son. She has no idea how her son felt or what he was like. He was a MARINE. That's not to be taken lightly. He joined because that's what he wanted to do. She has very much disgraced him. If she wants to protest war, that's fine. Our military ensures she has the right to do that. But she can't use her dead son as a way to get attention. That's wrong on so many levels. Especially when it's her beliefs and not his. If he thought like she did, he would have never joined, especially the Marines. As a military wife, I know the risks. I know what's expected of him. I fully believe in what he does and I support him. God forbid something happen to him, I'm not going to switch 180 degrees and go off the deep end. I'm going to remain proud of him and carry that honor with me. Cindy Sheehan has done nothing like this for her son, except to use him for attention. That's sick. Now she's not only lost a son (she really didn't want), but she's lost her husband, her home, her job and her friends and most of her family. Nobody agrees with what she's done or how she's done it. Now, she's living off other people's money so that she can go out there and speak. That's sad. I'm sure her son is disappointed in what she's done, espeically after what he endured in war to protect this country and her.
EDIT: HAHA I'm mental because I don't agree with you. That's laughable. But hey, you're entitled. Just remember to thank someone in the military for that. By the way, why is it me that you singled out?? Seems to me they're pretty much all of the same opinion. Guess I must've caught your attention, so I've done something right. Good luck to you!!

She should have tried a little harder in talking her son into not entering in the military. When someone signs up for our Armed Services, you know there may be a chance we might go to war, whether you agree or not, if you are not prepared to pay the price, don't sign up. Same goes for someone who is a police officer, fire fighter, etc. I don't care for her at all and her son would probably be a little ashamed of how she is acting.
Edit : Good answer candy g - give her the 10 points.
Edit: Good answer heartstrings !! You are so right.

I have no intention of lining this idiots pockets..........my son remarked that regardless of what I might feel IF something should happen to him PLEASE PLEASE do not do something like that, it would only dishonour him and what he stood for by joining of his own free will after 9/11..........
I can understand her grief and even to some point as a mother feel for her, it has just been her actions after the fact that leaves alot in question...............
Do her actions flag waving and hating make her a better mother or is it the lady that carries her grief with a dignity a better mother.in fact IMO neither are both have suffered the same loss but I would always go to the lady that carries her self with honour and dignity during that time as HER child did.

I refuse to read garbage. She is an idiot who is dishonoring her sons memory by all the trash she is doing. I did like the picture that came out with her sitting at a desk in a tent at some type of book signing or autograph thing promoting her book and NO ONE showed up. Tickled me to pieces

Oh brother.....let's not forget that she ABANDONED her son when he was a baby and had NO part of his life as he grew up. She wasn't even contacted about him joining the service. Now she want's to be the activist for her son? Let's research the video reflecting his father confirming these statements. Let's hear the stepmom that raised him!! She's garbage and needs to be taken to the curb. Just my opinion though!!

she is an idiot. her son chose to go over there when he was not ordered. he wanted to go to the sand. i don't know the reason, but i assume it is the same for a lot of us who chose to go with out getting ordered. a sense of pride in what we were doing. she is using his name in a negative way. her whole family has left her because she went and is still currently in never never land. if you are against the war, that is fine, but don't use the soldiers deaths as a way to premote your hate. alot of soldiers died going there completely on their own free will. they fought and died for a greater cause than she can and will ever understand.

This admiration for a woman who gave her son up as a child and then disgraced his life , his bravery and his country for her own gain....??? This woman who "loved " her son so much , that after his death, is so busy being a liberal puppet , that she gives up her second son because raising him interferes with her political plans... Give me a break .........

Her son is rolling over in his grave. She is a hypocrite and I'm sick of hearing about her. When she went to visit Hugo Chavez, I knew something was wrong with her. She is another Jane Fonda. She loves the enemy and hates the U.S. She is out for a quick buck, and using her sons name to get it!
