My baby was born at 34 weeks. At 34 weeks, babies born have a 99% chance of surviving without any complications, and only a short stay in the NICU - provided that the mother is aware of the signs of pre-term labor and gets to the hospital quickly.
Of course, it's always better for the baby if the pregnancy goes to term. But you're still pretty safe at 34 weeks.

37-40 weeks is term. 34 weeks is too early.
Some 40 week babies still go to nicu, and some 40 week babies still die. The closer to term you are, under normal circumstances, the better your chances are for a healthy baby.
Boy babies do not do as well preterm as girls. Girls develop faster at puberty, same goes for in the womb. Caucasian babies tend to be weaker than almost all other races.

as the mother of a premature baby who was delievered at 27weeks. I will tell you that when it comes to the neonatologists who will care for your baby should he/she have to spend time in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) That they never want babies to be under 32weeks. If the baby is born before 32 the risks are increased and problems arise.
Sooo... you are already past the biggest hurdle. Your next goal after 32weeks, is 37, which is technically term.
Good luck and congratulations

I believe that at 38 weeks a baby is fully developed. So long as the lungs are developed, everything will be ok. I think if you went into labor right now, your baby would be just fine. But dont get your hopes up...My baby was 9 days late! Good Luck and Congrads!

My doctor told me from 38 weeks to 42 weeks. I'm not an expert, but that is directly what my doctor told me. Ask your doctor about it next visit if you have concerns!
