More often i am told how humans have the ability to think ,modify , recall and manipulate their enviroment for their betterment or distruction as compared to other species like animals . with this obervation i am told we are much more intelligent than other species thus we appear to be much more superior .

Why then do we study birds and make fighter planes that mimic them . why then is our global communication system a product of birds studies in navigation . Are these birds unaware of their seemingly unique qualities that man wants to copy . why we just not innovate / invent things according to human needs without any form of reference to things we say are\ brainless , stupid and lacks a bigger brain .Why should be animals be expected to have bigger brains when they are of their own species . is it a case of comparing cats and dogs . Why should we not test ourself against the real Chief designer of the Human beings

Yeah sure we're great and everything, but why is it that we still can't stop killing each other? Who knows?!

We are very different to animals in terms of technology, but then, the only reason that technology advances is because people need and want it. Animals are surviving fine with just stick and rocks, so there's no need for them to advance the tools they use or the methods with which they use them.

Also, we cannot tell whether or not animals are advancing as humans did thousands of years ago because it's very gradual.

ps. Did you know that the water vole is the fastest evolving animal in the world? There are over 30 different species of water vole, with a range in the number of chromosomes each species have, ranging from 12 or 13 to near what humans have.

It really depends on how you wish to define superiority. Our success as a species would suggest that it is true maybe save flies (since they are more numerous).

However we are on the verge of destroying ourselves through human accelerated global warming and possibly war, so perhaps we aren't as great as we like to think.

No, we cannot use that as a measure.
We still kill one another for material possessions.
We are unnecessarily cruel to other creatures.
We even fight over the name for the Chief designer of Humans.

I'm not sure what you are so puzzled about. Of course it is the use of our brains and technology that makes us superiour over other living creatures. If we all had nothing and didn't use material objects we would be prey to many animals. It's our brains and technology that gives us weapons to defend ourselves and live a domesticated life.
