One more quote then I will leave Religion and Spirituality for the day. :)

"Christian fundamentalism: the doctrine that there is an absolutely powerful, infinitely knowledgable, universe spanning entity that is deeply and personally concerned about my sex life." - Andrew Lias

Does anyone here besides me see absurdity in this idea? The idea itself being one of the underpinnings to the faith itself?

It is very absurd. I cannot understand way an ALL-knowing entity would create something if he knows it will make him angry to see them 'love' one another.

For some strange reasons parents and doctors are very concerned about everyone's sex lives, so is the department of health which is fighting a losing battle over STD and the welfare system which is taxing people to death over babies born out of wedlock to poor people who can't afford to make babies but breed like rabbits.

Is there any absurdity here!

Absolutely. Let the fornicators DIE from STD. Let AIDs wipe out all the unpure. Let people get Herpes and give it to all the other loose people. Cease welfare and go back to Capitalism, those who can afford to make babies, do in the alleys like dogs and cats do.

Take the department of health off STD. Withhold anti-biotics from anyone with STD. Better they be saved for people with Flu and pneumonia!

Get rid of ALL forms of contraception.

Let abortion totally legal, that's one less future Atheist.

No CONDOMS, NO PILL, NO CREAMS, NO SPRAY and NO ANTI-BIOITCS.

Now, you still gonna screw a girl you meet at a bar! Or will the FEAR OF GOD get to you!

Take sex education back out of the schools

Get rid of all the laws on rape, prestitution, pronogrraphy, peodphillia and let people do freely what they want to instead of regulating it with threats of GOD WILL GET YOU AND THROW YOU IN A CAGE FOR 2 - 5.

Now you have FREE sexual rein and NO ONE is watching and NO ONE CARES, especially if yu get a burning sensation in your urthetra. After all it's YOUR morals that made that happen! We simply will cease PANDERING to your ability to do it safely.

Go back to blood tests before marriages.

Then after all these PAgans dies for their own ills it will leave the world with just nice, safe, pure relgious people.

All I'm doing here is returning us to BIBLICAL TIMES.

How comes cats and dogs don't get STD... Why is it mostly a HUMAN epidemic. And it is and epidemic and God is seeing to it that Penicillin doesn't work to cure it anymore. Or is that Darwin's EVOLUTION doing that to Pennicillin, either way it's happening. Eventually we build up a resistance to anything, except gonorhea.

Good idea, right!

Suddenly, Im uncomfortable having sex with the knowledge that some sky deity is really nothing more than a perv watching me.....

Yes, this is absurd. IF God existed, I highly doubt, with all the shyte that goes on in this world, that he has any interest in anyone's sex life. Except maybe some porn actresses....like those two born again Christian porn stars.... "Doing it" for God....

Seeing that even the "hairs of our head are numbered" I do not find this absurd. I take great comfort that God is concerned about every area that concerns me.

I am glad to know that Andrew Lias enjoyed this deep and personal concern as he tripped through life as a Christian fundamentalist. He must have had a lousy sex life!

God is deeply interested in all aspects of our life including our sex life. Now, to say that the universe revolves around it? Thats pulling hard on they asylum doorbell.

God says Thou shalt not commit adultery. He wants you to not have sex before marriage. Then He says later if you lust for a woman or think of yourself with her sexually you have already committed adultery with her in your heart.

Basically, we are all guilty but thats why God wants to "Seek and save all the lost"

Jesus died for that one little lust point. One of my teachers told me once when looking at a girl "take a picture, dont make a movie"

But to say sex is the universe sounds like a high school kid before Prom.

it was stated,"SUBDUE the earth and "BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY" on a human level, "dominate the earth and have all the children you can have. I think it means something else to the spiritual man.Subdue your carnal desires and express GOD'S higher vision of himself. energy can't be distroyed only changed to another form. if sexual energy is retained in your body what does it do??? I assure you this is not absurd. IT does belong to you,use it as you wish.

Love, sex and relationships! We all want to be loved, appreciated and have pleasure and fulfilment in our lives. God gave us all the capacity to love and be loved, to have special friendships with others. He also gave us a sexual nature, and sexual desires. This was not just so that we would keep the human race going, but also because God wanted us to enjoy oneness with a life partner. This unity is actually a very powerful symbol of the way God wants it to be between us and Jesus Christ. That is what the Bible teaches!

Sex is a gift from God. It is not evil. But it is a powerful gift, and it can be abused or perverted.

Yes. God made two genders for the purpose of reproducing each other so he wouldn't have to sculpt us out each time. Other than finding someone who really gets you and you really get him, I don't think God cares 'deeply' about our sex lives. I think he cares if we enjoy it maybe and if we're nice to other people. That's it. whoa.
I think he grants us a little privacy here.

The other night, things were getting a little hot and heavy between me and my wife when, over my shoulder who should I see?? GOD. Sitting right there in the chair by the fireplace just staring at us! I walked over to him and said: "Hey man, what the F--- do you think you're doing??" Then I threw his butt out of my bedroom and told him to stop being creepy.

Here's the thing, you just have to be firm or he'll be there watching you every night...
